Thank you Peugeot Group for your response. You are a welcome addition to the forum which I for one am truly grateful. All the problems that I have had have been dealt with by my dealer in a professional manner. My car is going back to the garage next week for the remedial work to be carried out. The problems have not taken away the pleasure I get from driving my car or from the attention it gets from others. It is still one of the best looking cars on the road, and I still love it. :greetings-wavingblue:

The latest condition door mirrors are not yet in stock. The month of August is typically when our factories and component suppliers shut down as is the case with the Magna Steyr factory where the RCZ is built. Once the parts are available we will inform the Dealer Network and at the same time ensure that this is posted on the Forum. To reconfirm, we will replace the door mirrors under warranty, if you have been experiencing the described issues. Thank you again for your patience.

Does this mean then that ALL RCZ's are still using the old style mirror that is causing a problem. We know that some have been looked at and "painted" on the inside, but the way i'm seeing this is that there is a new upgraded type of mirror but is not yet available, therefor ALL exsisting RCZ's must still have the old type, no matter if the car is a 2011 model like mine or 2010 model.

Also as Peugeot have now recognised a problem with the old style mirror, will ALL RCZ's that have this style mirror be recalled ?

This really is still a bit of a grey area in my opinion.

why don't you(peugeot group) inform the dealership now so when us the rcz owners go in to any dealer they are inform and have the clear information of when the parts are going to be in , and how it going to be done , so owners like me going to ask the dealer can be helped , instead of saying they don't know of any issue on the rcz

Well I guess we all now know. There is a recognised issue and a solution has been found. All dealers are not yet aware of the problem because not all dealerships give a damn and couldn't care less. Some who have been awarded RCZ specialist status, I assume would know because they take an interest. For the owners it is quite clear. Don't bother the dealerships, as you will probably know more than most of them by reading this forum.
Only washed Pearl2 once but there were no water leakage from the door mirrors as there had been on the previous model. So I suspect that I have the amended mirrors fitted already, I will report back on here if I find out anything to the contrary.

If in the UK the mirrors are replaced because of the dripping problem, I really want to hear about it!

Because in the Netherlands Peugeot don't want to do anything about it, they call it "quality characteristic", it's hard to translate,...but it comes to this;
Magnesium leave's a white mark, everybody knows that, so I shouldn't complain about it,... :wtf:

Hi, i had a white 1.6 gt spec rcz for my 18th birthday a while ago, i was driving it earlier today when a fiesta driver came bombing down a lane in the centre of the road and refused to move over.. He hit my mirror knocked the glass out and scratched and chipped the black casing. They did not stop and did not come back!

Does anyone know how much it will cost for a replacement case and mirror?

Many thanks, Billy

Quick answer no. From experience of door mirrors on other makes then I would suggest in the region of £200/250 even worse news there are none currently in stock in the UK.

Hi guys,
Have you read the recent submission from NELLIEBEAR, (Poor Chap),who recently had both mirrors damaged during the London riots.............He has had a quote for the supply , fitting and paint of said mirrors ! ! £1020. S**T

Maybe this is why Peugeot are a bit slow in doing a recall on them regarding the staining thing.

I wouldnt imagine any dealership would want to remove ,take apart and then re-fit an expensive mirror that was actually doing it's job and functioning ok, and i wouldnt think it was a quick fix either, the internal door card would need to come out to get at the all electrics and fixings, and in my experience when a door card has been removed it never goes back on as it did at manufacture. :eusa-think:

I think it's one of those sort of take your time and do it right type of jobs, and them jobs always mean big, ££££££££££££'s

hi there my dealer has offered to do the base on the mirror so it will not come out of the bottom of the wing mirror should i take it

maybe he will divert the water into the door, then it could drip from the door bottom drain holes and just mark the cills.
i would ask the dealer for a full description of the proposed alterations.

i would guess that they will mastic or seal the base of the mirror where it sits on the door then somehow have the water run into the door and out of the bottom.

Sounds like it could work but i just wonder if it's a good idea basicaly trapping water in the base of the mirror and hoping that it all drains into the door and away, i would be worried that not all the water is draining away and could now be sitting in what is essentially, a sealed up well, and not having anywhere to go :eusa-think:

Personaly i would rather stick with the official fix that Peugeot suggest.
