wing mirrors

Just an update on my new wing mirrors for everyone.

My wing mirrors were going to be fitted on Monday, however I received a call from Peugeot customer services today to inform me that this will now not happen. My new wing mirrors are not the correct specification. I do not have a date for when the correct specification mirrors will be available as Peugeot UK have not got a date from Peugeot France. :eusa-whistle:

This is turning into a real saga.

I have also discovered another problem today that I want to discuss with my dealership first before I post anything on here.

My wing mirrors were supposed to be replaced last Wednesday. I did tell the dealership that the mirrors needed painting, but they did not believe me. They assured be that the wing mirror covers just clipped on and off! Guess what, they now have to get my new wing mirrors painted at the body shop. Still waiting a week on.

i too was due to have mine replaced this thursday (drivers side mirror). i dropped the car off at 9 am and got a call after lunch telling me that they had painted the mirrors but there had been a 'reaction' and the paint colour didn't match so they didn't fit it.
now got to go back next wednesday.

.....we have no option but to continue to be treated so appallingly.

NO NO NO NO and NO :brickwall:

You say, "Thank You Peugeot for the experience" - and then NEVER buy another one again

I'm currently having a bit of a "new car" experience with my RCZ at the moment after the handling got sorted, so I'm in the Happy Camp :eusa-shhh:

Have to say though, that thinking about the cars I have owned, Audi really were first class for Service - Nothing (and I mean Nothing) was too much trouble. They really understood that if you received good Service and the car was reasonable and reliable, then there is a very good chance that you will return.

I've never seen the "white stuff" from the Wing Mirror so can't comment yet.
(Hope my Wing Mirror(s) doesn't just "fall off" now after saying that ;) )

I think we all agree that Peugeot Dealers are rubbish, but I am still waiting patiently for someone to post an E-Mail address, or similar, where I can get someone that shows a bit of compassion and dedication to solve the Mirror Stain Saga. Can anyone help, because my dealer could not give a ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Right eyes down, we may have inadvertently discovered a route into the Peugeot secret society .
Whilst at the track day yesterday i did a quick reccy of all 17 RCZs that were there, and discovered that it seems to be the 10 and 60 plates that are suffering with the white sludge marks. The 11 plates seem to have no marks. Does this mean that peugeot have remedied the fault at source now, and its only the pesky 10 & 60 plates owners that are kicking up a stink? i vented my spleen to a very nice lady from Peugeot, who happened to be Ms Helen Main the Manager of Customer Communications. I explained the problem on behalf us long suffering oiks, and she was very sympathetic. She said i was to email her with my complaint, and she would pass it onto the relevant department , which in this case is "The Product Manager". DAA DAA we therefore might seemingly have at last a contact point.

This is the reply she sent me.

Tony

Thanks for your note - and I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed yourself so much yesterday.

As I mentioned yesterday, I would like to pass this over to the Product Manager for this vehicle - however, he is currently on his summer holidays. Therefore, I will pass this onto him on his return - and will get back to you in due course.

Kind regards

Helen

So there you go. if you are suffering with the white lurgy, mail Ms Main with your complaint. She probably wont thank me for airing this, but hey,if someone was doing their job properly, we wouldnt have to resort to this huh?
Power to the people !!!

Well done ,
Ms Main may take you off her xmas list , but many owners with this poxy fault should be adding you.

You may also have a point with the year of manufacture and the fault too ?
My 2011 has not shown anything and i believe from reading other threads on this that it seems to be only affecting earlier models ?

Could be that Peugeot have rectified the issue with doing a recall, that way it would save them ££££££££££££££££££££'s.

I for one will be keeping a look out and keeping Ms Main's email address close by.

I should be able to answer the question as to if the problem has been resolved. As my 60 plate suffered from the mirrors retaining water. So when I wash my new one for the first time we will see (it is nearly a week old now) Will post my findings.

A number of owners have reported issues with the door mirrors on the RCZ and this is certainly a topic that has been much discussed on the Forum. The problem does not manifest itself on every vehicle but a solution has now been identified, and a modification introduced to cars in recent production. If anyone is experiencing this particular problem, then Peugeot will be more than happy to replace the door mirrors under warranty. We are currently awaiting a supply of the latest condition parts into our UK Warehouse which will then be made available to our Dealers. As soon as these parts become available we will ensure that this is posted on the Forum in order that you can contact your Dealer. In the meantime we appreciate your patience.

Hi Peugeot Group, Very glad to hear that positive action is being taken on this issue. However, can you tell the forum if the new mirrors to be fitted come with the parts already painted? My mirrors had to be painted, but a comment made by the warranty manager to the service manager suggested that the wrong mirrors were fitted, as the new mirrors come already painted. The painted mirrors look like they were given to the apprentice sprayer and have to be worked on again to remove a run on the passenger side mirror. :sleeping-yellow: :greetings-wavingblue:

In response to questions.
Door Mirrors will require painting. Peugeot has an approved Network of Accident Repair specialists who are required to meet an excacting set of standards. Therefore even if a Dealer does not have the facility on site to carry out the painting, this can be completed at an appropriate centre and to the required finish.

With regard to the question of the spare wheel. Whilst the RCZ is equipped with the emergency kit, we do recognise that many of you would prefer the solution of a full size or space saver wheel. We are also aware that a number of owners have already come up with their own innovative solutions. I can confirm that we are currently in the process of identifying a solution or solutions. This project is very advanced so we should be in a position to announce something to our Dealers relatively soon (perhaps 47 rather than 48 weeks !). Again we will post information on the Forum once available.

I have to say that to have this response from Peugeot does now instill my confidence a little back into my RCZ.

For a while it seemed like owners were just chatting amongst themselves and not getting anywhere.

Lets hope that "Peugeot Group" will continue to monitor this site and act on or offer advice on any further issues that are raised.

The only people who truely know what's going on is the plant where the cars are made, they have already confirmed the changes and also the up-grade to the RZC next year - it's seems that peoples memory's are short when it comes to these facts.

Also remember cars like the Asphalt are history to the plant, they have already been scheduled and therefore the plant are moving onto the next project - they tend to be 8 to 12 months in advance of most mods / alterations, in fact while I was there they were working on a new hinge arrangement for the bonnet.

I can report that after washing my one week old car today, that this problem seems to have been resolved. So whatever the difference is between these mirrors and the ones on my old 60 reg they have cured the problem. Hopefully this should give solace to all RCZ owners who cannot abide this constant water drip from their mirrors. Get yours replaced under warranty and receive the newly modified version. Problem solved....

Next.... What about the spare wheel????? Oh yes, that too is close to a resolution. By heck this forum is a useful tool
