I think the bonnets are the same the headlights are different but the difference seems to be at the front of the lamp which sits in the front bumper.

Bloody hell they sound like a right outfit! I would give Peugeot UK customer service a call and see if they can have a word with the dealer.

A few owners have had this issue recently, I have noticed that all these units seem to have been manufactured in 2009, and I just wonder if after 10 years they’re starting to fail??

I’ve got one of Ron’s original pucks, but not up for grabs I’m afraid :D I wouldn’t lift off the jacking points at all I prefer a block of wood on the chassis and a low entry jack.

You just have to look down the inlets to see the top of the valves I can’t believe they’ve removed the head without checking first!

The carbon build up would be on the top side of the valves your photos are only showing underneath. I just can’t believe they don’t know what the problem is :eusa-think: no compression at all is a major failure somewhere.

Yes the a Facelift front will fit on a MK1 but you will need headlights too as they are different, regarding colour I’m sure they’re the same white. But you will always get slight shade difference from car to car as paint changes over time due to exposure to the elements.
