So, those of you who have been on here a while will know that I have had my Z for @ 7 years, low mileage, but driven as it should be. In that time I have barely had any issues. It’s been fully serviced by PUG under a service contract.
In December 19 I had an EML & limp mode, so had 4 new coils &...
It sounds like it could be a loose connection or a faulty sensor somewhere. If you get the fault codes diagnosed, they should point to the culprit. Sensor faults are not uncommon On the RCZ, and are usually quite easily fixed.
Maybe it’s an idea to get them all done if it is the battery that’s died. They will have all been put in at the same time (ish) so if ones gone, the others are presumably close behind 🤔
I can’t help with your problem Pedro, wish I could, but I had 4 coil packs replaced at an indie dealer in December. He phoned and asked did I want the coils replacing with Peugeot ones or with the same ones I had in 😱 the coil packs had been in from new. Go figure.
When you ordered them, did you have to order 4 separate wheel centres Richard? I just got ripped off when I ordered some for my Range Rover, they sent one, and when I got on to them they said the advert stated one - it didn’t but it didn’t mention four either, I just assumed that’s what you...
Make sure they check for “notices” from Peugeot. You can tell them about the forum & members who have had this done.
As I said earlier, I don’t know if this applies across the full range of variants, so it’s probably a good idea to get them to check if it applies to yours before they do a...
I don’t think it’s a major issue. They did tell me that it’s not uncommon, and it’s not going to cause any damage, it’s just an annoying noise unless it gets very regular and becomes worse.
Obviously as I had a warranty and was going to get a new clutch out of it I told them to get on with it...
DMF.
I had a similar noise a couple of years ago, and when it went in they diagnosed the Dual Mass Flywheel. As I had a Peugeot Platinum warranty they replaced the entire clutch assembly FOC.
I took mine in for a service a few years ago & mentioned a slight knock on occasion from the front. While they had it in they changed the top mounts on the front struts FOC & told me about the notice.
For the dealership to say it’s a common thing is bull sh1t. It’s the first time I’ve heard of it happening & I’ve seen many hundreds of owners issues while being a member on here.
Unfortunately it’s a common thing for dealers to just replace nowadays instead of looking to repair.
As Les says...
The timing chain tensioner slipping usually involves a rattle on startup or tickover. It’s unlikely that it would manifest itself at certain revs while driving.
