The front strut top mounts were also mentioned in a “notice” to Pug dealers. If the owner complains, they can be replaced foc, but they are not subject to a recall. That’s not likely to be a rattle though, more of a clunk over bumps. (Not sure if it was across all variants & years).
I agree with the above, and if you think about it, all the petrol RCZ’s have basically the same engine*. Each one has been tweaked to provide differing outputs.
It’s well known that the more stress you put on an engine the more likely it is to fail, so going with that theory, the 156 should last...
Sounds like it could be something like a heat shield rattling or, as I had once after a service, the air filter box lid not clipped back in place correctly.
It’s the certain vibration from the engine at a particular rev range under load that does it.
Welcome 👋 I’ve only had mine for 7 years so still getting used to it 🤔
You will never have a car that you look round at as often as the Z. Also, you will never have a car that other people look round at as often as the Z.
So just to throw a spanner in the works, my GT200 is awesome. It feels like your going faster than you are & you actually are going faster than you think 🤔🤯
Also, had it nearly 7 years, no major issues, still drives like a dream 👍
If you leave the RCZ until it tells you you have low oil, it’s too late !!!!!
There are various bits under the bonnet that really do need the oil level to be at the top mark on the dipstick.
Check at least once a week, more often if the car is used daily.
So I only got the RRE literally a couple of days before lockdown, so I have actually washed it more times than I have driven it. So far it seems to be doing @ the same as the Z to the gallon only your sitting much higher 😁
My GT200 has cost me @ £150 in 6 years, although it has had a bit of work done on the extended warranty. It has still been one of the most reliable cars I’ve had.
I get that, not always easy to know what has been modded on a used purchase, and what might have been a factory option. I’m sure the insurers would love you to just tell them about anything that might be a mod so they can charge you extra, Just in case 🤔
The spoiler deploys to stage one at @ 55 mph. At this stage it cannot be seen from the drivers seat so a lot of people think it’s not working. Stage 2 deploys at @ 98 mph and this can be seen from the drivers seat.
One way to test if it’s working is to manually raise it whilst parked, tear up...
