My recent service called up 'slight deterioration of exhaust braiding'.
Apparently this is a flexible joint, so is it an MOT failure if the 'deterioration' gets beyond a certain point?
On this subject, what, roughly, does a complete replacement system cost?
Does the system come in sections that...
Is it possible it could be what you describe after just 28000 miles?!
If it starts doing it more than the current rare occassion, I'll get it checked.
What's the average cost of fitting a new clutch...?
And also, my car came 'back to life' today...put my toe down in 1st (5k), then changed to...
Thanks for the reply.
Daft question... would my 156 1.6 GT actually run if the turbo wasn't working?
Is there a simple test to tell?
I'm sure my car doesn't have the poke it had after I bought it...I used to get torque steer in 2nd, but now it just speeds up slower, if that makes sense. There...
I was going to ask about clutch travel..I noticed when I bought mine that the clutch bite is a little high, and this was mentioned yesterday when being serviced, but I read an RCZ review that said the clutch bite is a little high as standard. Can't be worn yet, my car has only done 29000 miles...
I bought the car 10 months ago and it's been serviced every year according to the service book. I can't tell though what was actually done. For all I know, I may still have the original battery, air filter, spark plugs etc, so I'm having the major service carried out so I know where I am. They...
Hi, just a bit of advice please regarding servicing...
Just rang my local Peugeot dealer to book a service.
There are three levels;
Minor, £209. Oil, Oil filter. Health check.
Main, £259, Oil, Oil filter, Pollen filter. Health check.
Major, £359, Oil, Oil filter, air filter, petrol pump filter...
I've had m RCZ for 6 months and I still haven't even attempted to get it into my garage even though there's 70mm clearance either side with the mirrors folded in. I've been avoiding it because I've assumed it's too tight. Now winter's here though and I hate faffing about with covers and kettles...
Hi, this is not what you'd call anything major, but how does one replace the lights in the sun visors should they fail?
I presume they are LEDs but could be bulbs. I have one that only comes on if you give it a 'tap'...obviously a slightly dodgy connection that will probably sort itself out...
No, not yet. I definitely have 'part 4'. I'm pretty sure I don't have 'part 1', as the sump and engine underside is visible...but I think only diesel versions have a full cover. It's also not obvious from the schematic where 'part 2' actually fits.
I was told I was missing my engine undertray so...
Hi, could anyone let me have the part number of the engine 'Under Tray' for a petrol 1.6 156bhp?
Mine is missing for some reason (no idea what it looks like, or where it fits...apart from under the engine, obviously). I ordered one from a dealer in Leicester but it is on back order, and ha so...
Had my system checked and everything ok, apart from 'weak' coolant...had it changed. Temp needle still hangs about for a while before moving up...I'm just going to have to accept it's ok....get warm air for vents shortly after starting up etc, so will move onto next job....painting calipers!
KG
Does anyone have the petrol version part number, as my undertray is missing. Doh!
As an update, I went to my local Peugeot dealer to order an 'engine undertray'. Some confusion ensued and in the end I was informed I needed one that protected some pulley or other that costs 50 quid plus some for...
I'll get mine checked out. This morning, needle rose quickly to 80, then fell back to the 50 mark and then gradually crept up. I strongly suspect the thermostat.
Am I correct in thinking a new thermostat module also requires a replacement wiring loom, and does the module also contain the...
On this subject, my 156 temp gauge sometimes goes straight up to 80 within minutes, then drops back and 'stabilizes', and sometimes doesn't move for miles then creeps up to normal. It never goes past 80 though.
It seems to depend on the outside temperatute. If the thermostat was stuck closed...
