General questions on exhaust system

My recent service called up 'slight deterioration of exhaust braiding'.
Apparently this is a flexible joint, so is it an MOT failure if the 'deterioration' gets beyond a certain point?
On this subject, what, roughly, does a complete replacement system cost?
Does the system come in sections that can be replaced individually? (Guessing yes).
Is the exhaust system unique to the RCZ or is used on another peugeot model?

Thanks.

Yes, it can be replaced is it a thp200, 156 or diesel? I can see if I can find a part number for you. Probably a shared part with other Peugeot models too.

If the flexi leaks it may be a fail as the emission test will pick up a leak on the system

I just put a cat back custom system on my 156. Had to replace the flexi pipe due to the same problem as you. Got quoted £100 for the flexi pipe as already agreed on a price for my system. Would have failed on emissions, so just replaced it.
