So here's how I got on and the break down of costs.
Initial welcome very pleasant and took around 2 hours to carry out. Advised them of several issues that were niggling with the car; noise emanating from the exhaust which I cannot isolate but suspect a loose bracket or loose heat shield, mirrors not tilting to preset setting on engaging reverse and randomly lower themselves and are slow to respond to manually trying to raise them, noise from lock to lock on steering.
The car has to go back on the 25th-26th for further investigation of the exhaust problem because, "the mechanic has never seen an exhaust like yours" (feline exhaust) so reckons on needing the car for 5-6 hours. Why the blazes it'll take that long is beyond me and they didn't actually check the mirrors for the fault that I described (rather that the folded and unfolded which is not what I actually said was wrong with them) so will have to do that by plugging it in for diagnostics tests. I'll have to drop the car off the night before and pay for the use of a courtesy car for two days (£15 a day for the courtesy car) as I can't get out there and back in the same day on a work day and they're not open long enough in the servicing dept on a Saturday for them to carry out the tests. Also I have 5-6000 miles and then I'm going to have to replace the front brake discs at a cost of £316 + vat. Current mileage 15100 miles. Tried to tell me that the exhaust is only covered under warrant for 6-12 months but aren't sure which. I made the point that the exhaust was retro fitted at the request of Peugeot and so won't be picking up the tab for any work needed or any potential replacement costs. What a total freaking nonsense!!! We will see what the outcome of that is!!
