I feel like I'm using this thread as my soap box but here we go....
So the kind gents from a certain dealership 12 miles or so from Aberdeen turned up to take my car away. During the conversation I had with the mechanic that drove the car off I was told that I was wrong that the engine shouldn't rev to 2000rpm and sound rough when started up and that the grease marks in my car were in fact dust and not grease. The first point, I'm a mechanical engineer by education and I have taken to bits my gf pt cruiser which is 11 years old to fix various parts. I know what an engine should sound like and how it should act based on previous experience with the engine. Secondly, I have no issue with people making mistakes however I get really irked when they don't face up to the mistakes made and just admit it was an issue at their end. A simple one line, "sorry about that" would have sufficed. Now when the car returns I'm going to be running a fine tooth comb over it to find any issues with how they looked after it.
I hate having to hand my car, one of my most valuable items both cash wise and emotion wise off to a bunch of people that I wouldn't trust to wash my dishes without leaving dirty ones in the sink. Peugeot really need to get their act together. I can see this being the last peugeot I ever own sadly as I love the looks, handling and car but the after care has been shocking and I have yet to come across a dealership that I felt happy with the service.
