That noise comes from the rear suspension. In certain ambient temperatures the RCZ tends to produce loud knocking noise from the rear suspension. It goes away and comes once in a while. I still haven't worked out when and why. She has some moods, my RCZ R, haha. But I love her :)

You're welcome! That pipercross is a very nice add-on to the R's engine. Works well. I have it too and the biggest difference is in the upper speed region where the airflow is improved over the stock filter. So, go for it!

No problems with the R seats on my over 25.000miles RCZ R either. They still look like new and I enter&exit the car multiple times a day.

It doesn't stop there. He needs to uprate the master brake cylinder and recalibrate the whole system including ESP and ABS. Now that is a biggie.
