In general you're right. But there are engines out there which like to have the occasional drink, or two. Meet the THP engine. Mine consumed about 0.3 litres of coolant in total over 35.000 miles.

the Supersprint sounds almost the same as mine stock exhaust after burn in. it took me over 20.000 miles to burn the exhaust in. now it has some more growl and tenor with the exceptional burp on the overrun here and there. but without the permanent farting of volkswagens GTI. at the same time...

Clocked over 33.000 miles on my R. Mine is one of the first batch that arrived on the market. No issues with the chain at all. If the THP works a bit harsh in cold, check the oil level. This engine needs to stay topped up to maximum all the time.

You will have hard times to find any niggles and problems with the R :greetings-wavingblue:

When you get those R discs really working, and I mean, really working, they not only tick, but clonk and peng very loud. If someone is not used to it, they'd get scared. It sounds like someone hitting the discs hard with a piece of metal. The sound of speed and heat, haha.

Re: 30.000 miles with the RCZ R (my story) OK, it is only 40 :D But doesn't matter at the end. As soon as the ambient temperature passes the 35°C, the sound generator gets roarty. I like it very much this way :D

Re: 30.000 miles with the RCZ R (my story) Have you also noticed the hotter outside the louder the sound generator inside? Like now, we have close to 40°C over here. When you rev the engine beyond 4000 the sound gets louder and more aggressive.

I'd rather see the TTS compete against the RCZ R. But I understand the price match making the entry TT a contender to the R.

Re: 30.000 miles with the RCZ R (my story) UPDATE: took the R and the kid for another run in the Alps during last week. As before, the R is well built for good mountain roads and a fast pace up or downhill. Brakes cope with the heat (it was hot there, up to 30C). The turbo lag is not a problem...

when listening to music I have to set the volume to even numbers only. And I skip the 4 at all. So no 4 or 14 on the volume settings
