    RCZ 200 EP6 CDTX :- VVT Solenoid

This is a close up of my VVT solenoid. You can clearly see the green seal on the old one is worn and thinner (leaking oil) plus the mesh filter has been destroyed on the old one in two places. My car is a 156 with 60K on it. So anyone on here with a similair car and miles should get this done...

    RCZ 200 EP6 CDTX :- VVT Solenoid

As you can see here Ive already taken the Timing Chain Tensioner out and the VVT soleniod is to the upper left of it leaking oil all over my engine. After both being replaced the performance was oustanding and tick over idle very smooth and constant. I wonder how many owners have had a timing...

    RCZ 200 EP6 CDTX :- VVT Solenoid

Yeah not an easy job worst Ive done on the Z up to now. As long as you have that 27torx bolt out nothing else holds it in other than the crappy green seal you can see on my old one. You may also notice two of the filters were missing on mine compared to the new one. I used a Ferrex Endescopy...

Yeah they may look the same but the NG4 and RT6 screen internals are a lot different. The original poster didnt say and hasnt replied so dunno ?

    New ng4 screen

I would think so. I bought a cable from a 308 NG4 Sat Nav to replace the one in mine as the cable cores had snapped causing the screen to flicker. If you replace it yourself just make sure you undo/cut all the cable ties on the dash cable to the head unit and the plastic moulded part on the...

    Headlight bulbs?

The fitment is H7 and are really easy to replace just take care not to pull the wires off the bulb plug taking them out. A wire clip holds them in place. I use Osram Cool Blue intense they are 4.2K brightness/temp. Osram Nightbreakers or Phillips Extreme Vision 3.7K temp/brightness are just as...

    Breather hose removal

The PCV is inside the rocker cover, you are replacing the piped feed from the turbo inlet. Dont mess with that end with anything that might break it as it will fall into your engine on the Cams or get sucked into the throttle body. The new Turbo inlet pipe should push straight in or clip in...

    MOT Mileage Record

It is still possible to do all kinds of shit with a cars mileage even now. Yes ask the owner to explain it after that it's up to you to take a chance or not. I bought a nine year old Corsa last year with 17k on it all genuine and recorded on MOT site plus the interior was like new and hpi check...

    Good afternoon everyone

The oil in that area is fairly normal its caused by hot oil mist through the PCV valve system in the rocker cover (the black pipe going into the rocker cover). Don't think you can stop to be honest it leaks under PCV valve cover (the silver bit on top of your engine). Just do regular oil changes...

    Good afternoon everyone

The two common oil leaks on the 156 are Timing Chain Tensioner as it basically tries to wind itself loose letting oil pass the sealing washer. The oil will drip down the top of the drivers side of the engine to the sump area. This cant be tightened as it will destroy the washer making it worse...

    Tips for buying

Regardless of age check its had the Timing Chain done if your buying a petrol. They even fail on the last ones built. One on line group owner reported hers to fail after just 17k and it was 2015. More early ones have the Timing Chains fail because they have done the most miles. Due to the direct...

    Centre Brake Light

I felt your pain. I did mine last year but split the complete unit in half and replaced the LEDs with a flat rail of new ones not individual ones. It works great and is nicley tucked away as a spare if the new one I bought goes tits up anytime soon. TBH this guy is the answer its a royal pain in...

The guy who supplies the repair service on the brakelight also sells these repair kits. After opening mine up to do the repair, these LEDs are nothing like the oem ones. Looks fiddly but if anyone fancies a challenge try this :-...

    Hdi noise improvements?

That's the trade off with Z's Derv's sound like a bag of hammers with a puffy exhaust even with quads. Ive had a 3 inch duplex and back box delete on a 2L Saab turbo and it still sounded pants. But apparantly the dervs are more reliable. I'll never understand the connection with sports cars with...

LOST MY RADIO, JUKE BOX, PHONE, SATNAV..... HELP!

As above sounds like a new battery required. If you have a volt meter try testing the battery if its 12v or less with ignition off then its not holding a charge. If you start the car with a voltmeter on it you should see it go from 12 to around 14 volts which proves your alternator is working...

After 6 months lurking - finally got one

If you have the NG4 as in the pictures posted in this thread below i.e the head unit with a 1-9 keyboard on the right hand side. I asked the dealer if he had any sat nav cables in stock and he brought out a box for me to look through and I found it marked up as off a 308. I have since seen the...
