If the message was this 'Battery charge or Electrical supply faulty' then I and some others have had it too. Myself and another on here solved it by replacing the circuit board on the front of the battery protection module. It sits on top of the battery. See this thread.

When I did mine, I mixed in some super heavy duty boat cutting compound. That stuff is savage! Did you remove the coating you put on it first?

I have to disagree on the whole turbo laggy thing. Again, my NA Clio is gultess below 4000 RPM. This is very common in NA cars (except large block V8's etc). Then it comes alive with a rush. I find the R has a very even torque curve in comparison.

Just make sure you get it inspected by an expert in these cars before buying.
