Yes, having trawled this forum I can see similarities over the noisy 'chattering' on start up and until the engine warmed up which is what I had experienced.
The garage confirmed the chain has broken, I'm waiting to hear their assessment on damage overall after they've disassembled the engine...
Unfortunately my 2013 1.6 RCZ's timing chain broke mid-drive which meant I coasted to a stop and had to be towed. The engine is being stripped down to discover just how much damage has been done.
Thing is, IF the damage is hefty, then a new head and re-fixing etc. will be an enormous expense...
See the attached photo. At the top right you can see the two looped pieces of wire. Move those outwards and off the T bar they're attached to and the whole wire section can be flipped away from the bulb. Make a note of the positioning of the bulb as it has to be correctly seated (notch at the top).
I was given a delivery estimate of mid-April and I've now been told next Wednesday 27th March, so you never know. I think they err on the side of caution and like to surprise…
It's a sport 156, replacing my current like-for-like, black, sport kit (prefer the steering wheel) and black pack. They had a black pack demo model and it looks mean and gorgeous! Have loved my RCZ (since Oct 2010) and decided to upgrade because I love the new 'DB7' nose. Thrilled of course!
Yes, wish I'd avoided the M1. One of the joys of yesterday was three of us (Amber, White and black) driving away in formation in the sunset, spoilers up, lights on...very cool.
It was such a great day wasn't it? Just knowing the limitations of my RCZ and the ESP system was invaluable. Great to meet you too Dartanian, cool to see the only Amber Red beauty there too.
Well it had to happen - a small chip in the windscreen just below my eyeline! In fact, it's too small (about 1.2mm) for a proper invisible 'Autoglass'-type invisible repair, or 'pit fill', but it's there - I know it - and now you know it!
