Ford Escort Mk 1 RS Mexico was my first car. Fiddly but fun back in the days. My favourite car I owned was a Renault 5 Turbo 2. That was a mid engined monster...well, monster in its day!

my first car was a fiat grande punto 1.6 16v Sporting (currently own getting my rcz next week)

Love it to bits even with it having shocking suspension and lack of feel in the steering but I do feel I should move on.

Looks very nice and shiny.

A very nicely detailed, freshly waxed red car is hard to beat in my opinion

thank you but it has never been waxed just washed every week or two.

still think it was the best 1st car I could have even now (i mean realistically no chance could I have had an RCZ if they were out back then as a 1st car lol)

it did have the weirdest steering you could not feel anything threw it and the suspension was rock hard to such an extent that I have had friends hit their heads on the roof and the panoramic sunroof is really nice. The car is crazily quiet though you can barely hear the engine even near the rev limiter

Bought my First car in 1982, and it was the staggering 1971 Triumph 2000 TC, lovely brown exterior, with beautiful velour trim :wtf: with OVERDRIVE (switch that did absolutely NOTHING when engaged)

All my mates had Capri's or Escorts, so I wanted to be different and couldnt afford the Triumph Stag :( , so kind daddy let me have his run-a-bout.

After nearly a year of constant niggles and break downs, I succumbed to peer pressure and upgraded to a Ford Escort Mk1 RS Mexico, held together in places by only rust. I assumed that this would be the most exhillerating (and dangerous) drive of my life (well i was only 19)

Back in 1983 my first car was a mk1, the booted version before they made them a hatchback, 2 litre Ford Capri GT XLR. It had the V4 engine, was Daytona yellow with a satin black bonnet and black vinyl roof, K reg and I loved that car. Wish I still had it now, they are worth a few bob!

Mine was a red 1965 mini 850 at the tender age of 17 (seems like a lifetime ago!). Bought a Cooper engine from my mate who had written his off and transplanted the motor....................The thing used to fly but had a great deal of trouble stopping (drums all around - no discs  ). Had to drill holes in the floorpan to stop the rainwater accumulating!............... Also being 6 feet 3, never got laid in it!

... my first car was a 1980 Honda Accord, bought in 1982. In those days, the accord was a simple little car. That was 13 cars ago!

When recalling what car I first owned, I was moved to list all the cars I have ever owned in my lifetime.........................Hell I was shocked.
I wont bore you with my list or number, but if you have some free time, make a list, I'm sure you'll be surprised.

Must be getting old

Mine was a 1965 Morris Minor bought in 1975 Dove grey with red Leatherette seats, could have a party on the back seat. Bought it off my mothers mate. I fitted a Riley Elf 1500cc engine with twin carbs that gave me a staggering 80BHP 0-60mph in 13secs. That was quick in my day. They do not build them like they use too.

My first car was a 1976 Triumph Dolomite 1850 automatic in Britsh racing green & I must say it was one of the most comfortable cars I've ever owned.

It wasn't without it's issues however. A piston seized a few months after I got it - had to re-build the engine, including hacks awing the cylinder head off in lumps while sitting on the wing with feet in engine bay 'cos of corroded steel studs in the alloy head. Not fun in the frosts of November!

There were a few good points about this, though. I learnt an awful lot about fixing cars (had a mate at work that was a car nut) and a lady across the road gave me a celebratory bottle of wine when I got it going again a couple of months later!

Happy days.

Mine was a orange vw beetle. OWW 377M. I was 17. We had 'arnie' vw in Street in Somerset and a number of my friends had one. We used to convoy to the seaside and think we were dead cool.

It had an alarming feature of the bonnet springing open when going over a hump back bridge and would tootle along quite happily behind herds of cows with no feet on the pedals - which knowing nothing about cars I literally thought was magic.

At the point where the road could clearly be seen through the floor was the time that 'bessie' had to go!!!!

Front end looks just as I remember the VW Golf being. Could be a bit of senility though
