Style Council, The Jam and Paul Weller are all in one playlist on my iPod. Great driving music along with The Eagles and Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer" :)

Wow...this thread is now making me feel young. I'll give you The Jam and The Clash though. They're both timeless.

80's classic noise merchants Testament practice what you preach and the new order albums shuffled together. Perfect driving music.

I'm in a totally different place to you boys just now. I'm all over The National and their back catalogue.

A bit late to the party but I have recently been listening to Biffy :)

Opposites is such a good album. The Fog is a great tune.

I really like the acoustic version of mountains :) They did it as a duet with a woman, cant remember her name.

Good man. Trumpet or Tap is my favourite track on the album but there are so many top songs on there. Saw them live for the 7th time last month. One of the best contemporary live bands about IMO and I have seen a LOT to compare them against. Can't recommend their gigs enough..and they're Scottish. Win!!!

I have been waiting for 'Secondhand Rapture' by MS MR to drop for some time and I cannot tell you how far from disappointed I am by it. Simply, it is sublime. At times, ethereal, at times emotive, at times heartbreaking but consistently mind blowing. I am utterly seduced by the vocals which are just beautiful. You can listen to the album in its entirety here....DO IT!!!

Female vocalists and being able to hear the lyrics are normally something that I lean towards. However I found her voice to be unattractive and despite the first three song lyrics to be clearly identifiable all that I could really hear was her droning voice. Sorry Rizz but this one is not for me.

I'm quite surprised and disappointed to hear that RON. I actually thought you'd love this. I'd certainly not say that her voice is droning. It lilts and verges on folky at times Maybe next time... (actually, I doubt that because it'll be The National that I'm all about and you'll hate that because he's a bass baritone!)
