Hi, my name is Tomas, 22 years old and I live in Finland. Been thinking about buying an RCZ for a while now since it really is the only car i currently want. They're just gorgeous to look at and with that 1.6l engine they're not too bad on fuel economy either, god knows that costs at lot as it is. I've only testdriven one 156 bhp car from the showroom when they were released and i completely loved it.

I currently drive a 2001 Peugeot 406 2.2l Sport and before that i had two different 405's so i'm not stranger to Peugeot's :)

Thing is the price and availability around here. There are a lot of 156 bhp models for sale but very few 200 bhp ones, which is the one i want.

Now they do have a decent 2nd hand one for sale with the THP 200 in metallic white and 19" all black wheels. This is precisely what ive been looking at. But it doesn't really have anything extra on it at all exept for that, which is a bit worrying. The grille is black and the short shift/smaller steering wheel is said to be standard on the 200 bhp models tho.

Something i really wanted was the JBL HiFi Pack but this car doesn't have that either. As i've read on this site it's okay without it but i would assume you can easily replace the speakers yourself? Does an aftermarket Sub and Amp plug right into the head-unit? The JBL Pack does have a Subwoofer right? What about USB connections to the stereo? Does the original without the SatNav and harddrive etc. have that?

Xenon's aren't on this car either but you can buy aftermarket kits for that as i really want that. There are Can Bus ready systems that should work.

No leather seats/dash either. The seats im not so bothered about but the dash is a pity it's not leather....

How do you all think the depreciacion will go with these cars? Obviously the 1st owner takes the biggest blow but after that? The one i spoke of was said to be 40.000 € new 2011 and he's selling it for 30.000 € with 3.400 km on the clock with the 1st year's service done. I think that sounds rather good. You basically get a brand new car for 10.000 € less than what it would cost.

So what do you think? Can i live without the option extras? Other thoughts? Timing is a bit off at the moment aswell since winter is coming...

I don't think there's a car on this forum NOW that has the leather dash as all are faux leather, as the full leather dash is £ 500. Xenons are a great option but as you have said you can get a canbus hid kit, go for 5000k kit. Your would be car sounds great with pearlescent paint and black wheels great combo go for it

The newer rcz can be got wirh a Alcantara dash,,,,,  but it will cost ya £1200  that's including part alcantara on the front seats as well.

Jassy, Surely there are many members with full integral leather. I certainly do, however you really struggle to know the difference between it and the faux. The only way I can tell is the colour of the stitching is white on the faux and colour coded on the genuine leather. So no big deal that this car doesn't have it. I also think that the JBL is a total waste of money. So I wouldn't be bothered that it doesn't have it. The Vision Pack/ Xenon's is a different story. We both agree they are practically a must have.

The one option that I kick myself over is the vision pack. I'd say it's a must. JBL stereo is a complete waste of money (in my audiophile opinion) and would suggest you use those pennies elsewhere!

Alright. Sounds rather good then. What about the USB port on the stereo? Anyone knows if there is one?

Are there not RCZ lights on Ebay or something? Probably ridiculously expensive if there was tho...

The USB port is hidden under the middle console armrest. Lift the hand rest and you'll find it.

Great! So its easy to play music through a USB stick then. Cause thats all i ever use, exept for the radio occasionally.

I never listen to the radio...ever. Yup, it's very easy to listen to music that way. Just make sure you have ordered your library into folders!!

I had to go out and testdrive an RCZ today! It was just the 156 bhp model but still. I got some clarity on it. And i must say it's just a damn good car! It's not exactly a rocket but it's "sufficient". The 200 bhp model must be very good in that case.

The car had no fancy gadgets whatsoever (basemodel) so i really got to see and feel what it was like. And i didn't really mind it. The dash etc was alright like that too.
It didn't have the JBL Pack either but it did sound great anyway as you all said. I would have liked a bit clearer treble tho.

I also just noticed that the 156 and 200 bhp models have different infodisplays in the dash. The one on the 200 bhp model is bigger apparently.

Damnit i want one Now! :D

I do remember a long standing thread on the info display screen and trying to find out the difference as to why some are bigger than others. If I remember rightly it wasn't as simple as the 200 one is bigger, it isn't. Some thought it was down to the Sport Pack but I'm not sure it was ever resolved as the different sizes.

So let me get this right / you want to buy the 200 just because it's got a slightly bigger info screen ! ;)

Of course not! I only noticed the screen today while i've been interested in these RCZ's from the very launch day back in 2010.

But bigger is always nicer i think. Makes it look more exclusive.

Please correct me if i am wrong :eusa-think: but the larger info screen comes with the sports pack, standard on a 200 gt but comes with 156 gt with the lamely sports pack

We are on to heated seats now Tomas the leather on the rcz seats is naff so better off with the cloth seat'seasier to keep new looking and with cloth upholstery there is no need for heated seats,as for the electric adjustment thats the least used gt option EVER wasted option/£££ in my opinion.I never use the electric seat adjustment manual adjustment is far quicker and easier to utilise

Leather seats only look good when NEW

Afraid I don't agree. I love my leather seats...although they aren't the most supportive of seats I've ever owned. I think it makes the whole interior look a bit "more money". I do agree with with the electric adjusters...they're not perfect but then nor are manual ones.

I'd have to disagree Jassy. Leather seats every time for me. I know they are not everyone's cup of tea but I like them. And if you look after them, they will still look like new. The RCZs leather aint that bad. Compared to some I've seen, including Audi, BMW, even, it's fairing well.

This is the first car that I have owned with leather seats and all I can say is they look good and properly looked after will remain that way
