Hope all goes well :)

Seeing consultant 9am in the morning mate. :?
My own Doc rang me Friday just gone, and said she had been on the phone all day trying to get me in and had managed to get me in this Monday to see someone..

It's probably just going to be a consultation at first with lots of questions, but at least I'm in and the ball is rolling.

I'm very lucky because the waiting list just to see a consultant for this particular department is huge, and you have to go through this department to get scans, tests ect.

I actually turned up at A&E last week hoping that they would do an MRI or even admit me, but as soon as they know that your own doctor is involved they just pass you back to them.

I was pretty desparate last week, symptoms were horrendous, but they are settling back a little now, but still very weird.
So anyway mate see what tommorrow brings and I appreciate you asking. ;)

Well I'm glad that they're moving quickly on this. The situation with waiting lists is unavoidable I guess but it's a pretty bitter pill to swallow!

Hopefully you'll have a constructive meeting with the consultant and they'll get you in for all the required tests and scans asap!

I would suggest that you make a little note of everything that you want to say and ask when you go to see the consultant and it's helpful to have something to jot down any things that they say to you. I don't want to sound too mothering but it's really easy to forget to say something or to come out of these meetings a little shell shocked. Some consultants are pretty brusque. I suppose they don't need to worry as much about their bedside manner and I found it helpful to make some notes ahead of the meeting and during it. Just a thought.

Anyway, take care and PM me ANY time if you need anything at all or just want to unburden yourself without worrying family members.

I'm really sorry to hear that you've had a rough week and hope that this one is a better one. Good luck buddy!

Thanks Rizz.
You are right about making some notes, so much has happened this last fortnight that my head is spinning.

I think the consultant that I'm seeing is head of the department, and my sister has dealt with him in the past, apparantly he's very calming and has that bedside manner that we all look for at times like this, so fingers crossed, I'm in good hands and all will be explained.
