Before you get back on topic... Allow me to say that you have shattered all of my illusions now  I assumed that you kept a pride of lions as pets and lived in a straw shack :lol:MaX83 said:bigmac3161 said:Well 95 is regular unleaded in the uk super unleaded in 97-98 so ur good stuff in Swaziland is our regular
Also, I am white, have a wife, we have dogs, live in a brick house, eat cooked food, drive on tar roads and there are no wild animals roaming our streets... stereotype much?
MaX83 said:Get up, walk to your RCZ, open the fuel flap, what does it say. 95/98 ron. 95 minimum, 98 recommended. No name brand fuel stations dont care about anything other than making money, hence they give you what you pay for or what they get from the suppliers. They dont add anything to the fuel to increase octane\clean the engine etc.
The Shells and BP's of the world makes sure you car gets 95 ron, not 94,9 ron... they make sure the additives in their petrol have good cleaning and lubricating properties. Go read that link i sent you.
You obviously understand computers. If you buy a game and it say minimum it needs a 3.0ghz processor but they recommend 4.0ghz, that indicates the game will run but it wont look nice or run smoothly. To get the game to work as intended you need to spend the little extra money.
The guys who buy cheap fuel sometimes dont get 95ron but maybe 94.8ron. The RCZ expects atleast 95 ron and that is where things start going wrong.
You state you dont understand these thing but still you feverishly defend you point?
Need to watch then or he'll find out where u live and hunt u down a kill u with his spearOO58RON said:Before you get back on topic... The following day I refilled the truck in Northampton. £1.55. 10p/litre dearer (just in case you couldnt work it out yourself ) What a bloody rip off. Its legalised theft :x The government wont do anything about it because they are making extortionate amounts in tax. I am old enough to remember when the only time fuel went up was on budget day. We are supposed to be greatful to the wonderful man that is the Chancellor(Tw*t) for not adding the pre arranged 3p this time round. What the pr*ck forgot to mention was that fuel has already gone up 20p any way. They think we are as stupid as they are
Rant over

mrizzle said:Mac did have a point though about fuel in south Africa though no? From what I understand from a little google search and consumers in SA are faced with the choice between 95 or the cheaper 93 octane fuel. (Source AASA) So your premium fuel is indeed our standard fuel. Obviously, I am happy to hear if this is not the case. Why are you guys offered 93 octane fuel at all? I simply mention this and ask the question out of interest...

mrizzle said:How very interesting. Anyway back to the supermarket vs name brand fuel, according to the Petrol Retailers Association, "there is no difference between the standard petrol you buy from supermarkets or franchised petrol stations. In most cases the petrol and diesel is even produced at the same refinery and delivered in the same trucks." I can't really see how you can argue that supermarket fuel is inferior.

Do supermarkets add additives to their fuels?
mrizzle said:Max, where on earth did this come from?! You seem to be continually affronted no matter what I post or what I say or view innocent remarks as personal attacks. That remark was an honest and well intentioned statement commenting on how interesting I found your previous post! How on earth can you take issue with that?! I'm not entirely sure if there is something lost in translation or if there are cultural differences but I cannot fathom why you seem to become so defensive. I am all for constructive discussion and debate but you just seem most unwilling to concede to anything that disagrees with your argument. For this reason I wonder if it is best that I do not engage in this any further.
