I'd like to know how much the previous owner traded it in for. Dealers usually only offer book value and that is very low.
It does seem strange that they've gone to the effort to keep, store and look after a car for 9 years, then it ended up at Derby Trade Cars.
Black cars look excellent when they are clean. They don't stay clean for long though.
Look at the condition of the brakes. It's clearly a car that has been stored well.
It's got front parking sensors and the JBL hifi. They haven't pictured the roof.
If I was looking for another one I do...
That car was up for sale a few weeks back and mentioned on another thread.
It looked like it sold quickly and it is now back on. Maybe the fixes aren't so cheap. I suspect the dealer is selling it cheap for a reason.
If you fit the Eibach springs you are going to have to do all 4.
Peugeot ones you'll only need the front. The Peugeot springs are expensive. I'm sure they are about £180 each.
I don't think torque steer is that bad on the R. I think the car deals with the power very well. I do usually buy the best tyres.
The point the car does lose traction and both front wheels spin up coming out a corner is interesting. When you start going straight ahead it does wake you up a...
270bhp is enough for the road. You won't get the acceleration figures of the modern 4wd cars with DCT boxes, but on tight twisty roads it would need to be a fast car to shake off an R. They stop and steer very well.
They are still underrated and unknown to many.
My thoughts would be why would the previous owner spend so much money on recent servicing and the brakes, then put the car to trade?
They would get poor money from the trade for the car after spending probably near £4000.
It does look clean and shiny otherwise. The interior looks fine too.
You can see the brake lines into the rear brake calipers on the photos. They are new as are the rear calipers.
I've attached a photo of the header tank. You can see the dark level line low on the tank.
The cheap car at...
There are now pictures of the black car on AutoTrader at £11,995 and 45,300 miles.
It looks like it has brand new front brake discs and calipers. The rear calipers and brake lines look brand new as well.
Budget tyres and that black wheels aren't for me.
I don't think I've ever seen an R...
The R is high on the seats. I couldn't see much wrong with the seats. Just sitting very upright that made them look odd. The car has been taken off AutoTrader already.
A couple more have come up. They are coming up regularly at the moment.
Maybe fed up of breaking springs looking at the MOT history and went with big springs. :)
The budget tyres look brand new. Maybe the dealer just stuck them on and the suspension hasn't settled?!
I think the seats are just too upright?
