I have Auxito led bulbs in both mine and they have mot’d with them no issues twice each. It does make a big difference to visibility, and now I can join the ranks of al, the newer cars blinding me.

Could be the beginning of motor failure shooting the current way high taking the fuse out. If it is the fuse and it begins operating again, might be worth giving it a really good inspection for anything that could have fouled it.
