    Japanese owners meet

Re: Japanese owners meet Is that a private plate or an RCZ derivative that I don't know about?

    RCZ Number Plate For Sale

I'm guessing that the highest bid didn't meet the reserve?

    Well.. The R broke down..

How would you go about doing that? Can you recommend or advise on what type of OBD works well with the Prince platform?

    Another Newbie.

Hello and welcome Windows95  . Great little drive of 400 miles and your mpg certainly beats my average. That's very interesting Iain. I was wondering whether it was just me that went round a long sharp uphill bend at 75mph. I also lose them at that point. ;)

Emergency stop lead to "Engine Fault: Repair Needed"

Hi All, It occurred to me recently that I should test my ABS properly. I have occasionally braked a little bit heavily at high speeds and was a little bit worried that the car "wobbled" a tiny bit in the process. So today I tried it at 20mph and then 30mph, just around the corner from where I...

    Help Economy mode

Thanks Iain, I'll have to dig out my super dooper CTEK battery charger. It wasn't cheap but it saved me having to buy a new battery for my old Skoda Octavia. The battery never had a fault again after using the charger.

    Gap Insurance

I took GAP insurance out this evening. Possible special offer of £30 off. I used www.click4gap.co.uk It has cost me £139 for 4 years based on the following: Purchased for £9960 on 4/8/17. First registration date April 2013 Cover amount £15000. The insurer/underwriter seems to be "Red Sands...

The good old days of driving in the 1980s

I'm reminiscing on the days before speed cameras and obsessive cop cars............... I rarely drive on motorways these days. It is because I have a mere 40 mile return trip to work. I leave home at 06:55 and leave work at 20:00. I drive almost entirely on the A68. Back in 1986 I used to...

    Help Economy mode

Hi Pete, Are you sure about this? My car has done this since day one of my ownership. I've come to the conclusion that it would do it with a brand new battery. I haven't timed it yet but I'm sure the ECU does this at an exact time interval regardless of the battery state. I usually arrive at...

    New owner

Paul, I think I'd cack myself with worry if I had to use a multistorey car park. I'd probably drive to the next town instead :helpme:

New RCZ owner, new experiences, lots of WAFFLE!!!

Thanks for the reply Pete. I was dreading having to polish and wax it again, it's so bloody tiring but I do want to do the best job I can. I've got five products to use that I didn't last time plus some that I did. 1. An "All Shine" clay bar 2. Gtechniq W6, Iron Fallout - will be first...

New RCZ owner, new experiences, lots of WAFFLE!!!

Indeed Neil, I've driven on that and most roads on the North Yorkshire Moors at some time or other. Mind you, I was careful to not stray from the path and I found the ambience of the Slaughtered Lamb somewhat inconducive to friendly banter. On Friday night, the day before my encounter with Mr...

    remap

When I had my remap done recently by Durham Remaps, they told me that the first thing they do is "revert to stock", regardless of what the current ECU settings are. I presume therefore that there shouldn't be anything to worry about if things go chest protrusions upwards. They can always reset...

New RCZ owner, new experiences, lots of WAFFLE!!!

An update on my post remap fuel consumption. I've used both trip computer settings. Number two is total consumption since I bought the car and number one is consumption since my remap. Both figures are remarkably similar. Figures from new also includes the miles since the remap. I do drive with...

    New owner

Hi Paul and welcome!! She's a beauty and just a baby too! I'm sure you'll nurture her like the rest of us here. I'm a relative newbie myself. I've owned Rozie for two months. It took me six weeks to decide on a name. She had to have a name. I described my obsession for her to a male friend of...

    frothy coffee

Stewart, I remember seeing one and it still sticks in my mind. I would never have recalled it though without your brilliant post! The Wikipedia link is very detailed. I haven't done any searches to see what they now fetch. Any idea? Apparently there are 246ish left...

Quick Drive out 353 miles - fuel consumption RCZ R

What superb info! I think there should be an RCZ Forum winner of the year, and you undoubtedly would win. Just for info... I drove on an autobahn or two back in 1986. i had a 1.6 205 GTi. I was often embarrassed when my 115 mph or so was far too slow for Mercs and BMs coming up quickly behind...

    New Pride and Joy

When I had my 205GTi in 1985/1986 I used to flash every one that I saw. At that time it was very easy to distinguish the GTi from any other 205. I would say that about 1 in 3 flashed back. What was really sad was that those who didn't flash back were almost all elderly. Elderly elderly. It...
