I think there was a member on here who fitted them, Dingers I think was his user name?
Think he was happy with them, think he fitted for same reason, OE springs were on back order.
As above I would always stick with OE for the R.
I have no experience with the pad thing, I am still learning with the R, I am still trying to keep my foot on the accelerator when going through a corner, instead of backing off!
I absolutely hate the understeer on our TT Quattro don’t understand how the car is set up like that, I had a 90...
The strength with the R for me is when on the move, I am not interested in acceleration from a standing start, as you say Kerr plenty with a DCT box will set of quicker from the line, the R has terrible torque steer for me of the line, so I don’t bother nailing it.
On the move it’s a very very...
Took the R out of hibernation today, first drive this year.
You really do forget how good the R is when you haven’t driven it for a while, it really is a superb all round package with the perfect set up in my opinion.
The grip and turning at speed almost defies physics, I honestly don’t think...
Flanners is indeed correct, but I think it’s also important to point out that if you go with a higher viscosity of oil than the manufacturer recommends (ie a 60) you are running the risk of damaging the crank bearings, as it may be to thick to flow between the manufacturer tolerances, hence...
Don’t worry there is absolutely nothing to worry about, a low viscosity (0 that is won’t kill your engine compared to a 5 no difference really) it’s the high viscosity that can damage bearings if wrongly chosen.
The only consequence of using a low viscosity will be leaks, usually through the...
As Pedro says Quartz ineo 5-30, if it’s good enough for the R and is manufacturer spec across the range, why would you be looking at anything else?
Perfect oil for the prince engine.
Wow that’s bad! Considering it only had a service recently that would set alarm bells ringing for me, obviously a coolant leak question is where?
Buying from a dealer though you could flag before purchase so it’s sorted.
I think it looks a decent example for the money, brakes done is a big plus, don’t like it when they don’t show the reg.
You have a keen eye with the header tank Kerr, I can’t tell, rusty bolts wouldn’t put me off, mine when bought were similar, swapped all out for stainless.
How do you know...
Is it me, or is that car sitting to high at the front, looks to have standard suspension, also something not right with the back on both front seats.
MOT history horror show.
Hi all, am I the only one struggling to understand what’s happening with the development of EV cars, I have just been reading about the new upcoming Mercedes AMG which will have a mass of over 2 tons and have over a 1000 hp, I fail to understand the point of these cars, more materials to...
That is exactly right Kerr, that car can be had for a bargain, can’t believe the presentation inside, it’s certainly not been cared for, I would go in hard on the price, given the MOT history.
Apart from the R I can’t believe how cheap these cars can be had for, I feel your pain, as you say it’s definitely a buyers market for main stream cars.
