It will be very interesting for sure, maybe they are planning to return it to stock, not sure what would cost though, I did think about going looking at myself as it’s local to me, just to see how good or bad it is.
I think a lot of people are looking at the envelope rather than the letter with that car, it maybe a good car underneath but to many bits stuck on for me, plus the paint job, body and wheels won’t be to a lot of people’s taste.
The R is the only car I have had where I wouldn’t change a thing...
That is exactly what I have Flanners in some literature I have, question is do we take it to mean that its a Peugeot product or something else developed in conjunction with Bilstein.
Why would anyone take notice of what he thinks, not really an expert in my eyes, in fact most motoring journalists these days are paid to say nice things about cars from manufacturers.
The thing with this Jay chap, would it make a difference if you supplied him with a good car? I think he hated...
Kerr I was being sarcastic sorry, I have never took any notice of so called guides, I just watch the market, also I have never had a problem selling a car for it’s worth, this is because I have always been an enthusiast and kept everything spot on.
I have never been in a rush to sell a car...
Well it certainly seems they need to move it on, curious why it has to be a quick sale if it’s a company car that’s coming.
Maybe it will finish up at 10k at this rate, or just maybe a lot of us are wrong with reference to R values and before we know it all our cars will be worth less than 10k...
The Alcons are definitely not a sub standard product, I certainly wouldn’t consider a alternative product based on insurance alone as it would be classed as a mod.
If you compare the Alcon to others or alternative, how many are a monoblock calliper (one piece calliper) most are a 2 piece...
The situation with the callipers has been done to death, to me there no different than any other performance brakes, they require lots of TLC like other brakes, I had APs on my last car, the pins that hold the pads in corrode into the callipers, if left un serviced you could destroy the calliper...
I had 3 offers, and a deposit was placed on the car at 15.5k, (asking price) as you know I was selling as we were expecting our first grandchild, I decided in the end to keep as we decided to re-jig the stable so too speak, I want to drive it for another year in the summer then I may decide to...
Not desperate to the see values high, after all we are talking about a Peugeot here.
I think we all, are just trying to protect a potential owner from the potential crippling cost of buying a bad R, yes you can be good with the spanners but the availability alone of some parts for this bespoke...
Could be, but the point is that all of us who own an R know how bills can rack up very easily with the crippling eye watering cost of pug parts, honestly I have never known or experienced such prices in my lifetime.
Don‘t think it’s about protecting the value, not even sure what people think of as a good car.
To me though a good car is something where everything is done with a full service history, with a set of decent matching tyres, ding free bodywork and perfect interior and no mods.
You would be crazy...
Morning all, just ordered a performance panel air filter for the R, purely to avoid keep changing the crap paper filter in the future.
I have these before in my other cars, just wondering if anyone has noticed any difference with the R, not power obviously, was thinking more of maybe from a...
Was thinking along those lines Kerr, there might though be someone out there that likes it.
The plaque inside is on another level, I simply don’t have the words.
