When you don't know anything about cars, what choice would you have? Trust some guy who lives near you, or trust a dealer? lol
I'll say this, I'd trust a Peugeot dealer more than a neighbour. A Peugeot dealer is going to have mechanics actually trained to work on these cars, they are going to...
Two things;
1 - Personally the 308 seats just don't look as good as the RCZ seats, I wouldn't want to put 308 seats in even if they did fit straight up. Having said that, if you don't mind, then you'd have to measure the rails to ensure the bolt holes line up.
2 - The arse roasters? lol. All I...
If we agree that what you say is correct, its the most unreliable model of RCZ out there, its a relative measure. If you compare it to other car brands/models, would it be considered unreliable?
When they wrote they wanted the most reliable one they could find, I'm certain they are not talking...
'Back to the same mech it went, who has found an air pipe broken hence coolant leakage.'
I think you're talking about coolant pipes right? They are never referred to as air pipes. Sorry, you confused me when you referred to an 'air pipe'
1- He says the faults happen because of short journeys, typical Peugeot faults,/ battery not getting chance to fully charge. - Those aren't typical Peugeot faults, they are typical car faults. If you take frequent short journeys (less than 20 mins) then the catalytic might not get up to proper...
These things are regular items that would be easy to confirm were needed to be fixed, so you can ignore them;
1. New battery
2. Front Brake disc worn, pitted / scored, not seriously weakened (MOT result)
6. Re-aligned front wheels
These things, as the work has already been done, would be much...
In that case, wonder if the water pump friction wheel is not engaging, which would stop the coolant circulating. Or the thermostat? Either way in both of those cases, the engine would overheat.
The question is, does it overheat? They'll have to drive it around for awhile and see if it does...
My first guess is the heater control valve not opening. Before sending to a garage, get yourself an OBD2 adapter/reader, plug it in and see what codes you get. These adapters are pretty cheap these days.
Just to be sure, check all fuses as well.
Good point. I'm in Australia so didn't even consider that, you reminded me that Europe is definitely a different world when it comes to cars. I guess that's why the VW group cheated lol
Wow, the 2011 one came up bad on the inspection, obviously run far far away.
The 2013? Well, I assume you're going to be the one dealing with any issues so I would make sure you do your due diligence lol
2013 - Run as far as you can from the 2013 one, just too much unknown and it's not worth the hassle. IF however, you have a mechanical background and the tools to do most things yourself AND you can get it at a price with a decent reduction AND you get a professional pre-purchase inspection that...
Exactly. A friend of mine is the paranoid type, when we discuss cars he always has the idea that certain cars or brands are trash just because he heard some bad things.
But I'm used to the hand wringing from people who don't have any real understanding of cars. I've owned plenty of japanese...
I should of asked what year your car was because the NG4 head unit has an SD card slot front and center of the unit which is for media storage only, but the RT6 version doesn't.
In light of that, I would just take it to the dealer and get them to put a new SD card in and do what they need to do...
Diesels can be great, I've got a 5cyl 2.4 Turbo in my Alfa 159 and it's got loads of torque and plenty of tuning potential. Of course, the upkeep is a bit more due to particulate filter and EGR etc. but depends what you're like with cars. Do you enjoy a bit of maintenance yourself and take an...
While I understand you'd probably like to keep the whole stock look, its way more trouble than its worth, you'd have to disassemble a lot and replace wiring harnesses etc. in other words, its basically impossible.
Go for an Android unit, vastly more capable, more features, touchscreen and they...
Yeah I'm new to the RCZ so still absorbing as much info as possible regarding the engine. I hear the horror stories but honestly, it's the same thing I've heard with every car I've ever had.
I think it's a classic case of being in an echo chamber where people want help with issues so you hear...
A few questions:
When you turn the car off, is it in reverse gear?
When you say the two issues started at the same time, are we talking exactly?
Looking at the manual, it looks pretty clear that the SD card has nothing to do with the mirror position. I'd never heard of such a thing but since...
haha yeah you have to spend a bit more for decent performance, the one I got for the Alfa 159 was just over 200€, where as the one I've order for the RCZ is about 240€, but it has a bigger screen than the Alfa.
The performance has been fine, no lag and no issues at all, had the one in the Alfa...
Always is an opposing view lol. Of course you don't have to start it at all for a month, the car won't die, but we're talking about optimal maintenance procedures and the optimal thing to do is to start it once a week and allow the engine to warm up and circulate the car’s fluids. This means the...
