Squiggle or the artist formally known as prince purple rain what a great album. Haven't listened to it in yonks but still rocks pity he's gone mad :wtf:

I totally agree. He's done some great stuff and he is so diverse.

I didn't know that Smiler. Thanks for the heads up. I will look into that.

One of his best albums, was the one given away free with the Daily Mail in 2007 called Planet Earth. It's brilliant, turned up loud in the RCZ :)

Ok this week I'm listening to another GREAT GREAT Scottish band, Frightened Rabbit. Their songwriting is truly exquisite, emotive and visceral. The new album was released yesterday, Pedestrian Verse. I have tickets to see them at the end of the month so I'm hopeful that I manage to dodge hospital until after it!!

I believe that their current single is getting a lot of air play...and rightly so. However, I never listen to the radio so I can't be sure how many of you might have heard it. Anyway, the song is called "The Woodpile". It's ace!!

Just seen them advertised for the Music Hall, have you seen that?? Cheap tickets too! My Bloody Marys ones are the same price!

I actually have a ticket (present from my younger brother). However, I can't imagine that I will not either be in or recovering from hospital by that date.

...I believe that their album went into the UK too ten over the weekend.

So...the Bloody Mary's are still on the go?!?!

Hell yeah, they're still on the go!! Still rockin' the feather boas and suspenders! They've added Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and BEPs etc to their repertoire now though. Still make a crackin' night out. Don't think your 'bellows' would stand the strain though!!

So did your brother not get you a seated ticket then? He's a muppet!! It's not long 'til the end of February, do you honestly think you'll have been seen to by then? #hopeful

I was actually thinking about downloading that album, nae like me to be so 'out there'!!!

To be fair, he bought the ticket for me at Christmas before the latest lung debacle. It's not seated...seating is a serious no no for the seasoned gig goer.

 These are valid points and i fully endorse the purchase of music. ;) However, they're not upcoming though, they've been around a decade and I have bought every album and paid to see them play live three times so I feel I've done more for them than the average listener. PM me your address sometime and I'll sort things out! :D

No no...not at all!!! I simply thought I best be a bit more PC and a bit less blatant!

Home address as it'll be too big a file to email through. Don't worry...I won't appear outside the house with binoculars...this time! ;)

Currently listening to and loving the debut album by Thom Yorke's super group 'Atoms for Peace'. The group features Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea but is totally unlike anything by Radioheadand is, at times totally, uplifting. I attach a link to a site where you can stream it for gratis:

Other than this I am licking my wounds about having to miss yet another gig this week by a top band I mentioned previously (Frightened Rabbit) this week. Stupid recovery!!:-(

I like the first two tracks supremacy and madness but its a different animal to absolution. I expect the rest will grow on me.

TALK TALK favourite track ever IT'S MY LIFE and occasionally I play the greatest hits album and the colour of spring :)
