You need wait no longer. Music taste is entirely personal and I'm trying to bite my tongue about your love of Wet Wet Wet (but it's hurting). Liking their music is questionable enough (oh dear oh dear Donna) but that you've got a crush on someone my mother used to fancy is straight up wrong. I'm fairly certain this constitutes reasonable grounds for a friendship divorce. :lol::lol::!:

Nowhere near as bad as George Michael! Even us niave 'teuchter quines' could tell who "batted for the other team"!! My Mam was more into Shakin' Stevens ha ha ha

how's your job situation going, have you spoken to someone about it :eusa-think:

Don't take it laying down, fight the b*stards all the way, you got nothing to lose, look into the history of other "accidents at work", and compare how the management acted at that time. Have they treated you like other employees ?

Write a detailed report on how it happened, but keep emphasising it was an accident with no injuries and very little loss/damage. Mention that at NO time was there a risk to another employee.
Don't mention loss /damage if this was med/ high :eusa-whistle: , but definitely do if it was low, you could even offer to pay for damages :eusa-think: .
If this was your first and only "incident", then let them know it was a one off ACCIDENT.
Put everything that favours you in the report, timekeeping, attendance, ability, ect, all the good stuff.

At this early stage don't threaten to "take things further", just be calm and factual, last thing you need is to look like a raving mad man. Keep the fighting bit in case you need it for later on

Thanks for your support K.. I have today posted off my letter stating the grounds on which I wish to appeal against their decision. I realise that this is a futile mission, however it is a part of the process that has to be gone through. I believe that my letter raises some salient points and that I believe it will all go down as good ammunition for the inevitable industrial tribunal that as sure as night follows day, will happen. Applying for jobs, but unlike you by skill base is no longer relevant and so I have the "why do you want this job" scenario to overcome. Hey ho the wind and the rain.

Yeah you have to go through all the correct procedures.
Just try and keep calm.
Do you have a union rep on site ?

As for looking for work, it can be daunting, :?
When I was laid off from BPI I would of taken anything, in fact the 3 jobs I've had since being laid off are totally different to what I did for 30 years with BPI.
My current job (just had full contract so thats good), is absolute worlds apart from what I'm trained at. But I think I really needed that change, I don't miss BPI one bit, in fact the last 10 years I was there I really did not like going in, I turned around on my way in many times towards the end.. I hated the place........

So Ron definitely fight this one out, but keep positive with the job hunt, and try something totally different, honestly m8 it's a breath of fresh air :thumbup:

Some excellent advice and words of encouragement from Jactac and Jassy thus far. I'm heartened (but not surprised) to learn that you have taken a rational route to appeal the unfair decision. Jactac's advice seems absolutely on the money to me and I hope that you will find evidence that your employer's actions were excessive and broke from tradition. They would find it very hard to justify why they acted differently in your case.

Anyway, keep your head held high and your chin up but fight the bas$!#@* every step of the way and don't let them grind you down. Besides, when one door closes and all that. Good luck mate!

I will loose at this appeal as the outcome has been pre determined and was so the day of the incident :thumbdown:

However a tribunal will be different. I will prove my innocence and show that they have been very heavy handed and not given fair, equal and consistent treatment. However all that is for the future. The problems that it has caused are only just becoming apparent. Filling in an application form is not easy as my previous employers have long since ceased trading or have been taken over and their contact details are no longer applicable. References are a similar issue, apart from my immediately past employer of nearly 6.5yrs I was self employed for the previous 3yrs and thereafter they are all (4) no longer existent!!!
