The Banter Thread

I suspect most of us knows what jactac is going through. It is that knowledge that causes us to feel so helpless in the face of jactac's situation. From the sound of things they intend shifting the work to another site? Is there another site locally (ie Wales)

Thats exactly what they are doing Ron, and the nearest site is Flint i believe, which is right up by Liverpool.
Strangely enough this is where our director is from and where the work is heading and where our director has recently been appointed a position on that site.

You could call me suspicious i guess :eusa-whistle:

Ok folks. I have mentioned of late my high blood pressure reading but have held back on other symptoms. Bottom line is that I now have a hospital appointment for Thurs 17th Nov. They will perform a coronary angiography to establish where the problem area is, followed by coronary angioplasty and stenting all in the same sitting. How good is that?
I would rather have this news to impart, rather than that of jactacs!!! How you feeling you welsh mounter?

Ron, hope all goes good for you, i'm sure it will.
As for my last few days, well i'm still in a bit of a daze to be honest.
Found out today that BPI made a £16 million profit over the last 2 years, but thats not enough to keep us open down here. :eusa-think:

Also found out that my "loss of earnings protection" insurance policy only extended to loss via an accident or illness, apparantly i changed it a few years ago when we remortgaged !

You've must of heard the saying "it never rains" it effing pours !!!!!!!!

At the moment we are in a 30 day consultation with the top brass to try and salvage a better pay out, but i dont think we will get anything, we havent had a payrise for 3 years !

I did get offered a move to another site at Leominster, but that means a 2 hour journey then a 12 hour shift then back again another 2 hours, then do it again the next day and the next day then 2 days off and start all over again.

This was the only timed i have laughed in 48 hours. and thats not like me .

Can't imagine why you wouldn't consider doing a 12Hrs shift with 4Hrs travelling after all that's only 16Hrs there are 24Hrs in a day (well there is in an English day) So that leaves you a full EIGHT hours to bathe, chill and sleep before you need to be up and away again. Sorry answered my own question..... So many sheep you need more time than that.

I have no information as yet. However as I have not had a heart attack this time, then I'm not expecting the recuperation to be more than a week two at most. Just need the groin wound to heal, Last time I needed rehab and all that, but as it's only "keyhole" I think it'll be wound heal and back to earning my keep.
Just so that you can encourage me to buy more detailing products

Yeah Buddy it's the same people, theres sites all over the country but the one in Greenock is head office, next time your passing toot your horn and give them the taffy finger from me .

The job i've been offered is something that i need to think about, theres the hours plus the traveling costs ect. :eusa-think:

I'm trying to get my head round travelling for 2 hours (traffic permitting) then doing a 12 hour night shift, which knowing what blown film extruding is like it can be a total nightmare on occasions even skipping meal breaks because this type of machineary does not get turned off at meal times they are a constant run system 24/7.
Then to top it off theres another drive home again for 2 hours, to "bathe a chill out" before grabbing a few hours sleep to do it all over again .

Bathe & chill out

Ron my good fella, if i up my stress levels any more with 16hr+ days and nights i will be on that ward laying next to you. ;)

Jactac,

Is it worth taking the job then using the time it buys you to look round for something nearer or different?

Yeah Marcus, i think that may be an option, i'm hoping the Union can get a sort of cooling off period, say 3 months then if it doesnt work out i can opt for my redundacy package, thing is if i just accept the job and find it was a bad move i cannot go back to the redundacy offer, so i need to try and strikeup some sort of deal.

I've been doing this type of thing for 30 years so, even though it's just like blinking to me i think i would like to try something with less stress more money and great company cars.

Ummmm, let me think now, oh i got it,

I bet you know what i'm thinking. :D
