Hi,

Still no build date on my RCZ ordered it on 3rd May, but heard nothing, My sister and dad bother ordered another make BMW and Toyota and got there cars built in a month and are now driving it they ordered it end of May, why is Peugeot so slow are building cars, I am abit confused do you have any get out clause if you decide not to go ahead with it. They told me 12weeks max which takes me upto End of July.

   :helpme: :helpme: :helpme:

Hi Eddread,
I ordered mine 23rd March and it will be mine on 3rd July. That is between 12 and 14 weeks from order to delivery. I am as excited about getting the car as I was on the day I ordered it. If something is worth having it is worth waiting for! Try not to lose heart, the day will come and at least it is not a soft top and you missed Summer!
Every new car built to your exact specification takes time and The RCZ is not a common sight so they are not exactly rolling off the production line in large numbers so you must expect a wait.

By the way, I pushed and pushed for a build date and was eventually given 24th June. The car was actually built earlier so even when you have the date it may not be 100% accurate.

I really sympathise with your impatience, I have been where you are now but there truly is light at the end of the tunnel.

MBJ.

I'd agree with this - it does seem slow, but always seemse to be about 12 weeks in the end (from having seen other members' experiences).

My brother ordered a new 320d m sport with a few toys on 3rd April, was delivered 15th May!

Unsure if this has anything to do with them building the RCZ from scratch each time, whereas with a BMW for example they may have a 'stock' one they then just customise as required. Unsure tbh :eusa-think:

12 weeks is about standard build time for a lot of car manufacturers. I never got a specific build date so I wouldn't worry too much. My dealer gave me a ring every week with an update. Does yours? If not, give them a ring :)

Oh ok cool I phone them every week at the min a online tracking system would be good also a live webcam feed of them making it and shipping it haha.

spoke to my dealer he said should be latest end of July, I have a week off 5th-9th August for my birthday so hope to have it before then would make a great present lol

Do they need a certain amount to do a build cycle wonder how it all works ? anyone got any pics of RCZ's being built ?

I know it will be worth the wait !

thing is the longer I wait will the garage give me less for my trade in ?

What extras have you optioned this could hold it back but l have to agree your car does seem to be very slow in cpming.rcz are not singularly built to order not economic, they will build a batch with the same spec and also every say every 4 car bui will have some options on it .only one in say for instance a hundred cars do they fully load them without it being orders like that.My focus is one of them it had all the boxes ticked by a computer....LOL

Your price for your trade in should have been agreed as part of your deal when you ordered your new RCZ. That should all be on the paperwork the dealer gave you outlining the options ordered on your Z and the value of your trade in, less your deposit. The price of the trade in SHOULD NOT change.

Sometime it is the more obvious reason, that reason being the factory is extremely busy building the new rcz as its getting more popular.hope your car comes soon.

From being built to picking her up can be very quick from what I have seen.

Build/Delivery times seem to vary my current Z was 17 weeks from ordering to picking it up & my first one was 15 weeks. Wait drove me crazy both times, but I can promise you the wait is well worth it.

They build many per day. However as with most cars there are so many variables, Colour, Engine, Model option extras etc etc that they will be built in batches. 12 weeks seems to be around the average from order to build date based upon comments posted on here.
