Just had my Ford Focus CC3 full service done £218 inc a new mot.
When my R is due there is no way I'm going to spend more then £150, seeing as it will have done less then 4k miles.
I might even get the local garage to stamp the book for a drink :eusa-whistle:

You are in for a shock then ;)
The R requires the spark plugs to be replaced every 12 months or 10k miles, this is probably due to its slightly more highly strung engine, my 1yr service was £280, would have been £250 with the service plan.

I've just been quoted £139 for the first year service on my R. That includes VAT. I then get a 10% discount on that.

I had a look online 4 spark plugs for the R less then £60 as mine have only done 3500 miles a good clean maybe in order ;)

As i said, you cant service an R for 139 quid, Peugeot parts end up around 120 quid for the fully synth 0w30 Quartz and filter, plus the plugs are around £18 each off the top of my head plus 2hrs labour. Cant remember if they did the pollen filter but they did do my say nav update for nothing :)

The price quoted includes full oil change, oil filter and pollen filter. I've requested a price for the spark plugs. My services have always been cheaper than most on here, from my local dealer. Who, by the way, have always been excellent throughout my 5 year RCZ ownership.

Wonder if that 10% works with Citroen, sis & bro in law have a c4 Picasso, as its a facelift version they found that the ac didnt work, condenser damaged, a mere £630 quid for the part alone!! They could do with the discount!!

Is the 10% discount just through your dealer or is it a Peugeot thing?

It's a special deal my dealer does with the NHS Trust where I work.
It's an added benefit (owning a RCZ - mot working in the Trust) ;)

Shame, NHS discount always comes in handy :)

Hi, which dealer do you use please? I've just asked at York and Harrogate Evans Halshaw and been quoted for 2nd year service at £335 and £368. A bit ticked off at the hgte branch as I take 3 cars there for mot's plus rcz and no offer of discount. My rcz has only just done 10,000 miles.

I would suggest that you seek the parts and fluids that are required and provide them. That will significantly reduce the price. They massively overcharge for these so there are savings to be made by providing them yourself.

Mines 2nd service was finally done at Evans Halshaw last week after much faffing around but got a reasonable deal in the end (by Main Dealer standards anyway) due to me providing my own oil and oil filter and them cocking up the price but agreeing to honour their mistake. :eusa-whistle:

In the end it was:

Oil & Oil Filer Changed, Spark Plugs Changed, Pollen Filter Changed + all the usual levels and brake pad wear checks, etc. = £120 + my own oil & filter.

They had all 4 wheels off to check the pads and replaced the temp sensor that was a recall at the same time as well. Took them about 3 and a half hours to do the lot.

I finally made a breakthrough on this with a refreshing response from a proper Peugeot dealer. When I spoke to the service manager (straight through, no re-directing to a booking service) I told her the situation needing a 2nd year service. without prompting she said with the mileage I have the brake fluid will be checked for water but doubt it would need replacing she also said the pollen filter isn't part of the car's engine mechanics so I don't have to have that done. They offered me a car while mine was getting done to visit the nearby shops or a collection service. All in £153 or an extra £20 if I want the pollen filter. That's a full service, genuine parts, book stamped. I might have to travel 35 miles to get there but with a saving of £215 it really is a "no brainer"
I also tried my local Citroen dealer and they simply didn't want to know.

Thacker, my dealer is JCT600 in Hull. I would suggest you still give them a try as they do seem to be cheaper than most places. I'm sure my 2 year service on my last Z was still cheaper than yours that you have now been quoted for.
