RCZ-R

It depends on what you want but the RCZ R would be top above the Golf R if I had to choose between both.

People will tell you the golf is quicker.... maybe off a standing start but in gear the R actually....
People will tell you the golf handles better, once you have stopped laughing at this you can just point out its not.
People will tell you the golf is more econo... no we wont even go there, if you average 30+ in the Golf R I would be impressed.

You know which one you want really and its not the German one

Hey all,the golf R Residuals may not be that great,as you can now lease a basic 5 door golf R for £250/month,but saying that the Golf R is another league in terms of build quality and mechanical/electrical wizardry from the RCR-R which has only front wheel drive and has no option for a sequential gearbox and a lot of driver assistance aids, but the RCZ-R still looks better than a golf :eusa-think: but you pays your money you take your choice...and oh...l take delivery of my S3 this Saturday Adios ST3  Forum seems to be very dull indeed lately...Wonder Why :eusa-think:

So ur saying the much heavier car with less power is actually quicker weight kills handling and performance ;)

So the Golf R has less power?? :wtf: (or do you mean power to weight ratio?? )
I am now confused

The RCZR comes in around 1280kg, the golf R with the manual box is 1476kg, with the DSG its nearly 1500kg, that's heavy for a hatch back.

I would also look at Auto express's website when they did the track tests, the RCZ R did it somewhat quicker in the wet than the Golf R did it in the damp  though the 4wd traction of the Golf has an advantage off the line.

The Golf is more practical but the RCZ R is more fun (and economical)

Think I'll find the RCZR weight is 1404 kg and the golfR weight is 1325 kg not sure where ur getting ur figures from that from both Peugeot and vw own figures. ;) as for track test only track I use is da road :)

As far as I'm concerned replacing the Rcz with something more practical was always going to be an problem for me. Performance, practicality and price would always be an issue. The golf at the crazy lease prices at the moment was a no brainer. I never even looked at the weight. My daily commute doesn't take me near a test track. ;-)

If it makes you all feel better my car clearly enjoys burgers and fries coming in at a heavyweight 1475kg. No idea what the power to weight ratio is though.

Personally, while the stats give you indicators, its how it drives, together with (lets be honest) how it looks that really matter.

While for the Performance, R&H and stats you can argue which is best all day - its marginal and subjective.
For me when it comes to looks, the Golf has been beaten with the Ugly stick in comparison with any of the RCZ's, from my standpoint.
That's in comparison, and just my POV btw. YMMV.

When I first got my "R", I nearly had a frontal trouser accident.

Put it this way - I lust after an Alfa 8C. I know its not the best drivers car by any stretch, but just look at it and listen to it.

Peace.

Id have to choose the RCZ R simply based on looks, thats what I base most of my buying criteria on when i buy something. The golf to me just looks like a..... well a..... golf lol! To joe public he sees a golf its a golf but I find with an RCZ anyone and everyone seems to take a secong look...... Certainly on performance the Golf wins hands downs, most of these cars are bought on PCP anyway so residual values arent an issue, as long as the payment suits the pocket who cares lol
yeah I totally agree with you m8 on the looks . a golf looks like ...well a golf well put I say and I am onto my 2nd rcz and it gets a lot of looks and have people stop and ask me about it a few times ,,you don't get that with the golf ha ha

++++++++++++++ and also there was a Silver M3 in the BMW BACKYARD with a privy reg X30 DER..... :eusa-think: :eusa-think:

And also please note both cars are brand new 64 plates with NO front regy plate.... :wtf:

but the thing that gets me is especially in the Mclaren and the Lambo, is the size of the gap between each body panel....its perfect,i was a little dissapointed in the 458 especially at the bottom of the wheel arches...you could easily see the weld/bonded points just like in my Focus :eusa-think: the 458 looks like a little Basterdised/chavved up as to say,the Lambo is sooooooo evil looking like a Great White Shark....but the rear engine cover ruins its rear for me but for sheer rarity the Lambo wins
