Think that huracan is as far removed from vw as that 458 is from fiat ;)

Think I'll find the RCZR weight is 1404 kg and the golfR weight is 1325 kg not sure where ur getting ur figures from that from both Peugeot and vw own figures. ;) as for track test only track I use is da road :)

Figuress from both Peugeot and vw, brochure figure for the rczr is 1355kg and vw with dsg is 1495kg (unladen) and 1476kg with the manual gearbox.

differential to help transmit the gamut of power through the front wheels, the RCZ R will complete 0-62mph in 5.9sec on its way to an electronically limited 155mph top speed. Peugeot is keen to boast that the RCZ R – whose 167bhp/litre specific output is higher than a Ferrari 458 Italia’s – also achieves 145g/km of CO2 emissions and 44.8mpg fuel economy.

Not only is the new car significantly more powerful than the RCZ THP 200, it is also lighter. A 17kg cut means the RCZ R will weigh it at 1404kg, benefiting its power-to-weight ratio further. New suspension settings include wider track widths and increased wheel camber angles, while there are new dampers and stiffer springs. The R also sits 10mm lower than other RCZs.

And the 1476 is for a 5 door manual golf the 3 door is 150kg lighter than da 5 door fact. :)

Stop being deluded and read the tech spec as given in the brochures as this info is correct. Note that vw state in the information at the bottom about the additional weight to be added to the already given weight by 30kg for the 5 door version. So basically the RCZR is 1355kg and a 3 door manual vw golf r is 1476kg (add 30kg to the weight for the 5 door version).
Now its back to normal service :p

Yeah, if the weight difference for 2 doors were 150 kg, the 3 door is papier mache from the B pillar to the back which sounds much more like a Peugeot thing to do...

How about putting the car on a scale?
I'm going to do that when I find a moment of silence in my days (btw, this weekend I will be visiting London with my RCZ R)

Hey mac av been in your shoes mate, Pug v....anything else sporty on this forum your on a hiding to nothing,l had a RCZ-R for a test drive... :eusa-shhh: i really did :) not long after i test drove the S3 S-Tronic...l did  just out of sheer curiosty,it has a great little engine..sounded too artificial though but with nice steering good grip, same interior..basicly nowt special  but again most people will buy this car overall on solely on by how it looks, where as people will buy the golf R .. because its rapid,4wd,sounds amazing, good levels of standard equipment, and handles far better than any FWD drive car,to be honest nobody thinks about residuals when they have their heart set on a certain car' that comes a few years later when one is thinking about trading one's car in

Have driven both and I know there's no comparison performance wise. But folks who've only got eyes for the rczr and only driven the pug just can't realise how quick da old golf really is. Sub 5 second car but oh well it just ain't a RCZ. Any word of ur posh vw showing up yet. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

I learnt a long time ago that handling has nothing to do with fwd/awd/rwd but how the car is set up, hence the golf r isnt as quick as say the Seat Cupra R/Renault Megane RS or even (dare i say) the RCZ R.

@ tony1968, agreed.

However - This thread is just getting a bit tedious.

If you want a sexy quick sports coupe get a RCZ-R or any other comparative car
If you want a super quick hot hatch, buy a Golf R or any other comparative car

Comparing the two is a plain case of comparing apples with pears

Quoting weight stats and 0-60 times is completely missing the point

You have to respect the rczr for what it is. Vw have never built a front drive car that can compete with the rczr. If you want to compare your vw to something, compare it to one of the other super hatches like the s3 or A45 or, if you lived closer to me, i wouldve taken you for a spin in my 360hp AC Schnitzer F21 M135i. Its the ugliest car ive ever owned but you tend to forget about the looks when you can do 0-200kph in 17s.

Btw, hi jassy, how goes mate? Been a long time! :greetings-wavingblue:

To be honest! I just chose the Golf R because I could get my bike in the back. Hope it doesn't add too much to the weight. ;-)

See u just don't it the rczr is not as quick as the golf I'm talking real world on the road not some jurno on a race track. If u don't believe me go have at test drive then come back and tell me the RCZ is quicker. Then u can compare them urself and not wot someone else is spoon feeding ya :)
