No I suspect them they first loaded another mapping on CPU, one resulting in less HP.

This way it looks like they saved the day and they have added 40hp instead of the 25hp.

It doesn't matter what or why they take out CPU before the first. They shouldn't touch it until after the first run.

To unlock it?

That is the reason why they do it.
When it comes to those low HP figures I'd say it comes from their dyno. Other dynos will show other numbers. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Important is the final result.

Let me ask you this, do you feel a significant power up after the remap?

To do the first theydon't need to do anything. So if they need to do something you do after the first run.

for me the problem begins from what they told you to expect (295hp)
if as they said afterwards all r's are 240-250 why they didn't mension it earlier?
there is no possibility some r's to be 240 on their dyno and some others 270
they all have the same turbo the same boost and the same engine
(a difference of 10hp is normal from car to car)

They say if my car should have had 270hp to begin with then they can reach 295Hp

If you are chasing after numbers only then you'll need to put more cash into the car.

I'm happy with mine. It does true 167MPH, outruns Gaymans and the 996 generation of 911s, all the big diesels. So almost no opponents on the daily commute.

But let me ask you again, are you happy with the result and how the car performs now?

Let me guess, this is slang for ,"boxster"

according to Clarkson, Cockster=Boxter and Gayman=Cayman
Ha ha I heard cockster before but I never heard gayman
I'm interested though, what do you regard as "big diesels"? :eusa-whistle:

all those 3.0 biTDIs, or merc 350CDI, beemers 535d, even the 550d. In general all which are way above 200bhp.
The hardest to pass is the newest 335d as in the 3 series shell the car is lighter and it is pulling all the way up to 140mph before it runs out of puff.

But then all of those cars should be electronically limited to 155mph. Not so for the R.

Which they are. It is not so much about top speed but more about pulling from, let's say 70 up to 120-130 mph. Because hardly anyone is driving faster than 130 on autobahns these days.
I'd say it is about not letting a Peugeot pass because I'm driving a 70k Euro benz or audi. So you cannot pass! It is a very childish behavior. I'm driving my pace and just want to get pass by. But often I catch up some bigger benz or audi and if I catch them, it means my pace is higher then theirs. So please let me go. But as soon as they see me in the mirror, oh sis is a french car! I paid more for my german car! Let's see if I can pull away!
And then they start to do silly things, accelerating flat out and not moving aside although the lanes are free. After a while they give up and move aside. Often they greet me with the middle finger or as soon as I pass by they move behind me and flash me like crazy. If their headlights had guns they would shred me, haha.
But sometimes you meet cool people. Mostly in high priced cars like this one guy from UK in his Aston Martin. He was cool enough to let me run against his Aston V8. Sure, he pulled away, I knew it. But I wanted to hear the sound of his engine and see how fast does he get away. Thumbs up, goodbye and have a safe journey back home.
But honestly, Germans are the worst drivers in Europe. Just plainly the worst, selfish drivers in all of Europe.

Sadly, it seems to be the same the world over.

Here in the U.K. We have a variety of Lane blockers, from the aforementioned big Mercedes, Audi, BMW drivers, to the chav 3K hot hatch drivers, who have lowered them to within millimetres of the tarmac, and hung an exhaust on the back that's worth more than the rest of the car, just cos it makes it sound like a Scooby.

It is frustrating when you just want to get where your going as fast as possible, yet they all seem to think it's Some kind of challenge & either try to race you, or simply won't move out of the way.

Maybe it's just a Peugeot thing :eusa-think:

I'd never go for a piggy back system on the R. Problems included when pushing the engine to the limit.

Getting increase like of over 50 HP on a RCZ R looks like asking for problems in the long run.

i don't say you should
that's your decision
and i don't know what you asked from your programmer
i'm just saying that maybe your programmer isn't so good after all

(don't underestimate thp engines, i have 100+ hp more in mine and no problems at all)
(also r is more bullet proof than mine)
