After the remap my RCZ I had 278 HP and 380Nm.

No not really found that, mine feels like she has more than the quoted power figure, had a play with a few cars thar had substantially more power and she happily gave a good account of herself (FK2 Civic type R, AMG merc etc), and wasnt there a rolling road print out of one (RCZ R's?) running 95 ron and spot on 270 bhp and 380+ nm of torque.

What condition were the alcon discs when you bought the car Dan? Are they the original discs when it was new?

The condition of the dics is very good. When I bought the car it had only 4300km (ca 3000 miles) on the counter.
The guy I bought it from was +60 and never used the car for what it was made for, so discs never had to suffer.

with so little miles on the clock it is possible that the car hasn't shown it's true power yet
but it's quite a difference..
have you conected any diagnostic?
is everything working ok?

The car feels fine and seems like everything is working fine. I will also contact my Peugeot dealer to see what they have to say.

So you had to remap your car to get the power it was supposed to have already?! :crazy:

Story of the chip tuning. :)

When the R came out I had a chance to talk with some technicians of a race team that started racing the RCZ R.
They had gone through a lot of troubles to get more power out the motor. At that point they stated that Peugeot Sport Division did a great job. Everything they tried at first (air filter, bov, intercooler, ecu reprogramming...) all resulted in less power than original.

So with that in the back of my head, chiptuner can tell that original it has to less power to cover for something they can not get out of it. :oops:
(that's just my personal oppinion an theory (I had good and bad experiences with chiptuning).

But still, a black R.... :-D :-D :-D ... one day... :Moony:

Hey Joske I got the same feeling. My car was parked outside while I was waiting inside. While I was waiting I saw them taking out the CPU while my car was still outside. 10 minutes later I see them mount the CPU again and 5 minutes they drove my car on the test bench.

Then they do a run and say they have bad news, that my R is missing 30 HP.
Why did they remove my CPU before the first run ?

I also think they can't get much more out of the engine if they want to stay in the safe limits.
So if the show the car has less power then they are the hero of the day because it looks like they added 40 HP

The torque during the first run was 330Nm like it should be originally and after the remap it's 380Nm.
So that's 50Nm more and you feel that very good when you accelerate. In the lower revs te engine feel much stronger.

It's a 1.6l engine with 270bhp that is 168bhp per liter. Name 1 engine with the same power ratio?

I had the discussion a few time already, and the only engine people can think of is a F1-engine.
7500rpm vs 16000rpm, difference in turbo size,... bolt a hugh turbo on it, and you will have more horses, but is it still drivable in real life?

i have a smaller turbo than the r
i use less boost power than the r
and i have almost the same nunmbers on dyno with danro
i know that each dyno is different but still it is not normal
how much boost do you work now?

and don't forget that there is a bimota edition with the same turbo and 300hp..

That bimota version is merely an engineering exercise, but have you read any reviews from anyone who ever drove one? :eusa-whistle:

You should ask them too why before the remapping they where saying about 290hp and when you where there that every r is about 240...

They say they can reach 295 HP if the car should had have the 270HP to begin with.

But think they have done something to the original mapping before they did the first run on the dyno.
Before the first run they took out the CPU and after 10 15 minutes they came back mount it again and then they did the first run.

They don't know that I saw them take out the CPU. The car was parked outside and while I was waiting in the office.
When I went to the toilet I saw that my hood was open and that the CPU was taken out. When I came back from the toilet it was all ready mounted back in.

Question, why take out the CPU out while the car is outside before the first run ?

There is no good reason for that.
