So my 328i F30 arrived this week and I will agree with the above, jumping from the beemer to the RCZ does not feel like going a step down. Only place where the BMW is better is at road noise when driving 160+ kph. This week, i've owned my Z for 1 year and still love it as much as the day we got her!

Congrats on the Beemer Max! They sure are nice cars and plenty of ponies too! :D On the issue of road noise, yes that was one of the first things I had to get used to in the Z. It had me so nervous in the beginning I was constantly turning down the volume on the radio in paranoia, thinking theres something wrong with the car. :? Eventually got used to it. Now I just give it some more gas till the noise goes away!

Well, I have had my RCZ R for a week now and so far it is a great car to drive and no issues. Nice throaty sound to the engine. Thought I would be able to dispose of my Garmin that I used in the "old" RCZ but as the RCZ R's satnav doesn't accept postcodes I guess I will still keep it.....

Front seats are manually adjusted which is fine but I did like the memory settings on the old RCZ.

When you opened the boot on the old car, the channel for the spoiler managed to send all the rainwater into the car. The new spoiler still suffers a bit from that issue but not as markedly.

Though fuel economy is meant to be marginally better than my other previous RCZ, it is actually slightly worse at 7.85 miles per litre for the first couple of full tanks, mixed driving so not necessarily representative as I haven't done more than a thousand miles so far.....

If you spot one in Maidstone area it may well be me. Haven't seen any others around here yet.

I live in Chatham but sometimes venture toward Maidstone - I'll look out for you! I'm a white GT with a private plate. Haven't seen an R around Medway (or anywhere to be honest) as yet...

Lucky chap!!!!   Perhaps you could start a thread and provide some pictures of the beast? :eusa-think: In the meantime, what colour did you plump for? I assume that the reverting to manually adjusted seats was a further attempt to reduce the weight of the car. To be honest, the electric seats take an absolute age to get moved so you're probably better off with the manually adjustable ones!!

I went for the Opal white. The only optional extras I had were front parking sensors (got used to them on the old car!) and black mirror surrounds, and it would have been rude not to get the body transfers at the bottom of the doors as well - though £270 seemed a bit steep.

You can put a postcode into the Sat Nav despite what it may seem.

Its the RT6 system isn't it?

Put the postcode in the city /town field.

Nice car by the way. Would love to see some pics.

I have been a member here for some time - lurking, reading and keeping quiet

I too have taken the plunge and bought, an unseen and untested black 'R' - a first for me when buying a car. Yes it maybe expensive and Yes it may depreciate faster than a balloon filled with helium. But it is what I want, as it is different to most of the car shapes out there. Unless you go an buy a BMW i8!!!!! for 3 x times the price.

I part exchanged my RCZ GT which is coming up for 3 years old which didn't miss a beat, with no real problems either. I hope that I have made the correct decision by switching over to petrol. Going to pick it up in early March with 14 plates.

"misterX" made me panic slightly when he said that you can't put a Post Code in the SatNav, but believe that was corrected by another post.

Hopefully I will have a trouble free car, but you never know, so fingers crossed.

For those who maybe live around Scarborough, may see it!!!!!!!!

Scarborough hey? Not far from me AND you could bring your 'R' to our Yorkshire Meet in May. It's right on your doorstep.

Good on you for taking the plunge. I'm sure you won't regret the decision. I would do the same, if I had the chance :)

Crikey...that is a rather expensive "sticker". Would love to see it though...she sounds blooming awesome!!

misterx, how are you finding the ride on the 'R' compared to your old RCZ? Noticeably harder?

A little bit, but I can't say I've really noticed a huge difference so far, but that is probably just me!
