I am just about to order a RCZ diesel and am hesitating about the Sat Nav system....since the comments on this post were written, does anyone know if anything has got any better please?
does the system now accept UK postcodes?
Thank you for your help!

Firstly welcome to the forum anita.
To return to my original post on this topic:-

1. Only accepts a 5 digit post code.
2. Hardly any 3D mapping.
3. Cannot set Home, despite the instructions saying otherwise.
4. It is not Ipod friendly. It does not allow the full capabilities of your Ipod to be accessed.
5. It does not read the grace notes on the vast majority of Cd's
6. Text messages received whilst sim card inserted do not display the senders name, despite full details being available on the inserted sim card.
7. No way of knowing how up to date the mapping is

I can now state that items:- 3, 6 & 7 are incorrect statements, eventually I found out how to achieve these. The dealers and even Peugeot UK didn't know how to initially.
The media system is just that, it is not merely a sat nav. If all that you want is a Tom Tom then they are far cheaper and do that job better. With the media system you get the sat nav built in with a snazzy pop up screen (looks very cool) You get 10gb of hard drive storage for your music, built in telephone with sim card holder and I'm sure there are several other things that I can't remember. As I have the system and so don't know what I wouldn't have if I had the non sat nav version. I wouldn't want to not have it as it really does enhance the cabin appeal and make the car a lot easier to sell on when the time comes.

Thank you 005 and thanks for your words of welcome. Its a great forum, for a great car!

I have found the same thing with my 407 coupe, that the Peugeot people know less about the car and sat nav/media system than I do, but I guess that is because their instruction manuals are so bad, while we learn by trial and error! anyway, thank you, you have convinced me to get the full system...but now I see from the forum there may be a new RCZ model out in spring....so next question I must ask myself is should I wait till the new one is out!?

Hello Ron,

Picked up my RCZ yesterday, and wanted to put in Home adress, and indeed, the explanation in the handbook is incorrect. You say you found the solution ... would you be so kind to help me out. The dealers couldn't help....they want the car in and contact the distribution center....

Many thanks in advance.

My memory is not too good and it was in excess of a years since I achieved this task. I will attempt to give you a speedy solution, however if you fail to achieve a result, I will have a play on mine and note down the steps.

Firstly you will need to select address input ( as if entering a telephone number) as the telephone directory and the sat nav stored addresses are linked (same) So when you input the telephone number and address it will ask you "is this to be a navigable address? Select yes. You then have to input country and all the other details. you probably need to then scroll either up or down as you need to answer "do you wish to assign this address?" answering yes to this will give you the option of setting it as "HOME"

Please let me know if this works for you. If not I will look into it more and between us we will resolve it

Good luck

Thanks! Tried it right away, took me 3 minutes!
Now I can instruct the specialists at the dealers ;-)
