New asphalt

I agree with you Starky, they really ought to have included Quads

The vision pack is supposed to be ace so that'll be great if it's included. Thanks for the positive comments from you both and I'll add my voice to the chorus regarding the quads being standard. The car looks balanced from the rear now as it adds symmetry that matches the double bubble roof. I always felt it looked a bit awkward with the twin exhaust aligned on one side. I'm a bit OCD about symmetry though...

The Asphalt is very easy to wash down. I just use the shampoo that comes with the cleaning kit, I bought an extra couple of bottles from my local dealer. The water dries off really well with a drying towel, no streaks etc, you will see what I mean when you start to clean the car for the first time. Much easier to dry off than a 'normal' paint finish. As yet I haven't added any other finish to the paint, no paint sealant etc. I would say the paint finish is actually satin in look rather than flat matt so to speak and it is relatively hard wearing. May look to give it a coat of something before the winter sets in. We have had our Asphalt now for nearly 5 months and we both really like it. It does get alot of looks when out on the roads, for some reason the RCZ seems to be quite rare down here, I am in Wokingham, only seen a couple in recent weeks. You will find that you will get somewhat paranoid when parking at the supermarket etc, nothing worse than getting door dings etc, we park ours a lot further away from the supermarket entrance than our old car. We have a couple of small scratches but you don't really notice them, just as well because they can't be polished out anyway, you just get use to them and you have to live with them.

the ashpalt does indeed come with the vision pack as standard so ill see how it looks when i pick it up, confirmed date is now tue 6th june, im gonna be going to a man i know who works for turrif tyres, they do bespoke exhaust systems so ill see what they can do, why Peugeot didnt put on both sides i really dont know and they have stopped the feline pack :(
As for the paint finish, i do hope its as easy too look after as you say , seen some conflicting comments on here and elsewhere, im used to parking at bottom of supermarket car parks too, never liked anyone near my A5 lol

Phantom i was looking at the swissvax wax they do for matt finish paint, looks great stuff and be good to get a couple of layers on every year just to protect the paint, only problem is it cost £160 for a 200ml tin, saying that it will work out better than a respray if i do get any marks, scratches, or radio active bird poo ( which we seem to get a lot of here in Aberdeen :(

June 6th...bet you can't wait. Good news about the vision pack. Which alloys have you got/gone for? Will be very interested to hear about the developments with a bespoke exhaust system...keep us updated.

As for the Aberdeen seagulls/albatrosses, they are a bloody nuisance in any car! Are you getting these special cleaning products for the asphalt that most Asphalt owners received on collection?

Asphalt comes standard with the solstice onyx black wheels, jbl sound system, sat nav, matt paint, upgraded leather so didn't have to spec it up anymore ;)
Yea week tomorrow, can't wait as I've never seen one in the flesh.
I'd go for the feline pack if it was still available but they have stopped for some reason. I've seen pics of them and I'm sure my man will make one up for me. I might even change the tail pipes ;)

Yes I found this back at Xmas when my wife decided to take the plunge and get her car. £160 and you don't even get a shine with it lol  I wouldn't mind so much if I could use the same wax on my own car but I have a 'normal' paint finish on my car. It is a rediculous amount of money but I think for peace of mind it has to be worth it.

We have been really lucky so far in terms of bird sh*te on the body panels, we don't park the car under trees where possible, car is always garaged when at home rather than being left out on the driveway and fortunately my wife's office car park is underground. So even though I said in my other post that the car is incredibly easy to clean, on the flip side you do end up spending more time trying to protect her from door dings/bird mess etc.

I think Peugeot should invest in a Harry Potter style invisibility cloak for the RCZ

You lucky you, garage and under ground parking. I'm not gonna have that privlage so have to pray to the gods that the c-17s that they call seagulls up here stay away from my paint. Did you say you have used the swissvax or you thinking about it?
It's a lot of money but if it does the job it says it does I think it would be worth it.

I told my dealer to make sure care kit was there, it comes with every ashpalt, he didn't have a clue about it!!!
There prone to attracting sticky fingers so I'll be double checking it's there when I pick car up ;)

Good on ya!! I'd be making certain of giving the car a VERY thorough checking over before leaving, particularly with the paintwork that you have!! I'm fairly certain, judging by your posts, that you are like minded and already intend to do exactly that!! :) I really hope to see your car about when you get it...the Asphalt is really special.

Oh and...more for myself than anyone...my 500th post!!! :) I've spent far too long on here!!

Oh you can bet on it. I'll be round every panel with a microscope. I've heard even an oily finger print marks the paint
Think it's the first ashpalt that Belmont has had through so I'm taking it everyone from the director to the guy that sweeps the floor will be having a once over on it.
I'm in bucksburn so I'm sure we will see eachother at some point. I'll be the car coverd in bird poo!!! NOT ;)

    Good man!! I'd be EXACTLY the same way!! Also worth checking over the break discs and hubs...these are probe to rusting and I've heard tales of them being on cars from new. A cautionary piece of advise although I'm sure you won't experience it. I'm intending on painting or having my discs/hubs and brake calipers treated or professionally sprayed at some point in the future. I hadn't realised, at the time, that they wouldn't fit coloured brake calipers after market.

My missus thinks me utterly obsessive about gettin the bird sh*t off my car but I'll be damned if I am letting any oversized winged vermin destroy my paintwork!! They even take the p*ss at work as I have been known to clear any bird droppings off at a lunchtime...it's sad, I know, but it's my pride and joy and the nicest car I've owned so I'll take it on the chin....the abuse that is...not the poo.

I'm in Bridge of Don and frequently out the road to Inverurie where my brother and his family are so I'm sure I'll see you going about. Ace!! :)

Ah another standard spec on the ashpalt. Black break calipers :) :)
I know where your coming from about the bird poo. I'm much the same, can't stand the stuff on car. When I see it it's off. I'll be even worse with the Matt paint!
There's every chance we are going to bump into each other( not literally)
I have family in Inverurie too and out there most weekends

Yup to both parts of that Starky. I still have them in their original (sealed) packaging and with fitting instructions enclosed. I'd be happy to sell them to him and see them get put to good use. :) I appreciate the hook up.

http://www.rczperformance.co.uk you guys seen this site???
Don't look unless you have a very nice bank manager ;)

Yup it's a great site run by a top geezer and forum member. I've used them before a they've been top class. This is the site I was referencing re exhausts etc. Steve, is wonderfully helpful and full of tips and advise regarding the products in sale. He also has a facebook page that's worth "liking"! You could spend a LOT of money in his shop but my bank manager (also known as the wife) would kick my hoop if I got liberal with any further lavishing of cash on my car. ;) :(

   Kick your hoop
Lucky me doesn't have a bank manager in the form of a wife so my hoop is free from kicking, after I recover from the wallet bashing i got from buying the car and some tail pipes I might look into a few other wee bits, hdd dlr's be on the to do list.
What sort of price would you be looking for decals? I'll see him tomorrow, I know eBay has a couple for I think £70 :D
