Hi Mick  nice pictures

It will be difficult to do better next year, the Dolomites are so beautifull :)

I have all winter to prepare our next road trip ;)

Yes and that's a mighty task, as finding a hotel is too, so come on less of the slacking crack on - LOL !!!

I have organized this kind of Alp trips 10 years ago, so I let me tell you, I know what Dan has to go through to make it :greetings-wavingblue:
The biggest challenge still waits for him, the French Alps.

I have already organised several trips to the French Alps, but that was in the time I drove motorcycles.
It's not more difficult then organising a road trip in Austria or the Dolomites.

The only reason why we don't do the Franch Alps next yerar is because I didn't want to sacrifice our holiday
for the third time in a row to prepare it. So next year I wanted to go easy on myself and go back to Austria.

In 2020 we will go to the French Alps.

We wil start in the Menton and end the trip around Grenoble.

Ok Z'ers before I get accused of bumping my thread - I have a little time now to finish of this post with the last of the pictures from the last days, sorry it's a little late.

Last day of the trip....

Today we drive back to Austria and drive over 3 passes the highlight - Timmelsjoch.

This high alpine road was sanctioned by Hitler and Mussolini when they met in 1939.

We set out... for fuel !!

Lunchtime stop...

Not fazed by all the people in and out of the kitchen

the lunchtime view

chance to get the bird out !

some nice cars in this car park - wish you were here?

pretty remote eh?

arrival at Timmelsjoch.

the dirty dozen....

notice this picture - no guessing which is mine ?

this weird shaped building is the visitor centre

the view from the visitor centre

some cairns dotted here there and everywhere !

continued...

and our final stop back at the hotel.... arghh them again !

not a bad view from our hotel room?

and the balcony

and I found this outside the hotel, my take on the custard factory !!

the hotel itself

and view over to the lake - early morning

and grounds

The ferry home - boo...

but I only park next to the best !

We've finished our trip now but I would like to say thank you for all who went and made us feel so welcome.

It has been a fabulous adventure with like minded people from Germany, Belgium, England and the Netherlands
and we have thoroughly enjoyed it and made some new friends along the way !!!

Thanks for everyone for looking and hope you enjoyed the pictures and synopsis !!

Here's to next Year 2019 Austria !!

Cheers M..

Hey Guppy, when I were a tiddler (pun), I had a guppy, a molly, a zebra, a neon tetra, an angel, a swordtail and many more.
Here is a siamese fighter sporting Avery Roaring Thunder Gloss flip colour wrap.

Near our holiday home, down south, there is a nature park where they (zoologists, etc.) claim, there are chameleons. :geek:
