Yes his own private air strip 😂 😂
I have Hdi and been thinking about it myself.................. bet it's been a costly job to get all that work done.. But well done just drive safe and stay lucky 🍀

The remap was around 250,but it transforms the car if you want the performance, but it's still really nice driving normally, and throw in the extra mpg it's a no brainer.Like everyone I was thinking about the cambelt a few months ago and once it's entered your mind you have to get it done, and I think I was done for 500.Hourly rates in Surrey are north of 70 for a specialist.Happy driving yourself, take care.

I can remember the days when I could jump in my car @ 1am head off to the M1 & floor it without any thoughts about speed cameras other traffic or police. I knew I could get it in top gear & keep it floored until it just wouldn’t go any faster.

54 mph seemed really quick in my Mini 1000 back then 🤗

Same back in the day,I had old Alfa Giulietta 1.6 109bhp,I put in a 2.0 130bhp and couldn't wait to try it's top speed improvement 3mph,but because it had the 1.6 g/box it improved 0 go 60 by about .5sec massive gain back in 1981.Happy safe driving.

Been driving a re-mapped 406 Coupe 2.2 HDi past 17 years. I'm not a 'floor & redline it' type of driver but I do like a car with good pull/torque as it's this that gives the feeling of speed and throws you back in your seat IMO.

Having just bought a 156 THP RCZ (Mark I, 2010) I was pretty happy with it's performance (for me) so wasn't really interested in getting a full ECU remap, added to the fact we were in Covid so was gonna be difficult to arrange anyways. Also I was not too keen on suddenly & greatly increasing the 'strain' a fully fledged remap might put on a 90k miles 10 year old car that appeared to be running very very well for it's age.

So I decided after some research to go for a Racechip. Not for the increase in HP (+19HP) but for the increase in torque (+48 Nm). Decided on the standard Racechip S as I reconed for the money £119 it was the best value and wasn't too much of an investment if it didn't work out for me.
Installation was simple, it connects to the boost sensor on the intercooler return hose and the MAP sensor under the airbox.

Been using it a week now on setting No. 4 (it has settings 1 to 5 with 3 being the default) and I have to say it does exactly what I want from it... a boost in torque and a noticeable faster driving experience.
For some who are into dyno's & absolute horsepower gains it might not suit but i'm happy with my results for the small investment I've put in.

Location of the 2 sensors (Boost & MAP) you need to connect to with the supplied Racechip wiring harness.

Hi,

Thanks for the clarification on the installation.

What was the process to remove the air filter housing?

Are there any bolts holding the housing to the car or is it slotted and clipped in?

Thanks in advance.

I didn't have to take the whole housing out. Just remove the top part of the housing (3 bolts at front and clips in at back) and you can get at the sensor underneath.

Brilliant... Many thanks for that... Simpler job than I thought it was going to be.

Hi! Is it correct that the user manual speaks about connections A, B and C while the wiringloom only has A and B?

Sorry for the confusion I obviously miss read your part of the thread, I hope what I've said so far is helpful and when I get some time I'll post a couple of pics of my install , as I said the only little difficult part was getting to the sensor under the air box every thing else is very easy, so there is really nothing to worry about. 👍
Can you show me which is the sensor under the airbox please?

Well I decided to take another hit too my wallet and I purchased a racechip rs , as I've been thinking of increasing the power a little for a while, I've had a few of my previous cars remapped with different outcomes some good some bad , so I thought I would go down the racechip route as i could fit it myself (love too tinker ) I must say I'm very impressed with the result, it's been on my car now for a couple of months and the improvement in performance is impressive so if there is anybody like me who is thinking of remapping I for one would definitely recommend the racechip it might be a little more expensive but you have got the option of transferring it too your next car a reprogram thrown in with the price, any questions please ask always wiling to help.
Did you have a harness with 3 sensors ?
