I did format USB drive to fat32 and unzipped files to it. I tried to update from 2.75 to 2.80 and from 2.75 to 2.86 but each time i get the same error. I might try to update from CD :eusa-think:

I do have the 2.80 official cd if it doesn't work and can send it out.
PM me your address it might be a couple of weeks before I can get the CD though.

I think you have to go to 2.80 first as this is where 7 digit postcodes came in, along with map updates.
So I don't think you can go straight to the 2.86 from 2.75.
You don't have to do map updates at 2.80.

Chris, I don’t have the files anymore, but if you could screenshot what’s supposed to be on the usb stick after unzipping, that might help, he might be copying folders instead of files, or the other way round :eusa-think:

I'm sure I read that 2.80 has to be done by cd?
That's how I updated mine. I had a few technical problems due to not following the update procedure properly. So I had to buy the 2.86 Update CD from Peugeot for £9 something.

This is from the first post on this thread :)

Edit
For those of you trying to update from 2.75 to 2.86 it might not work.

Might have to go from 2.75 to 2.80
From 2.80 to 2.86.

I will have my original disc 2.80 firmware update disc back soon.

But here you can download it from gpsunderground.com

Try this from gpsunderground.com

http://gpsunderground.com/forum/peugeot ... post237136

Post 33 is the iso file to download.

Post 40 is interesting (has to be done from disc not usb).

Does anyone have the Firmware version 2.86 ?
The links to GPS underground no longer work, still trying to save my system from destruction !!!
All else fails - it's going back under warranty but if Peugeot's is anything resembling DJI then I'm done for.
Thanks

Gpsunderground.com still works, but I think they have become login access only.

For some reason that deactivation thing for maps does not work for me :eusa-think: I followed the instructions, system rebooted and then tried to update maps but each time it asks for activation code :? Oh well

Thanks guys for the info, I have tried that version a few times, so here goes for some more !! If I can't sort it I will buy from Peugeot, I didn't realise it was only a tenner. Does the camera alerts go on automatically because I can't see them in the POI list?
Will try that one at the weekend.
Thanks again !!

You need to follow the deactivation instructions exactly.
Check the setting to see if it has changed.

And that was the reason i failed to disable activation code - in the instructions it says "Answer no to all questions except the last one" and the last question was "Reboot?" so it took it literally :D :text-blondmoment:

This reminds me of programmer joke (and yes, i am programmer) which goes something like this:

A programmer is going to the grocery store and his wife tells him, "Buy a gallon of milk, and if there are eggs, buy a dozen." So the programmer goes, buys everything, and drives back to his house. Upon arrival, his wife angrily asks him, "Why did you get 13 gallons of milk?" The programmer says, "There were eggs!"

So yeah, you have to disable "Maps DRM" setting... i got it working now

Glad you got it de-activated.

I should have taken picture of the question you need to change and then added it to the instructions.

Can you just do the map update for your area (UK), or does it have to be the whole shebang?
