Ok - top secret, I get it ;)

Down there again tomorrow. Not too dissimilar to the dual carriagewayed A64 that I use to get to it :eusa-shhh: :law-policered:

Don't be too hasty at discounting the HDi. It's a fantastic power pack and has suffered less from problems reported on here then is petrol counterpart.

It has bags of torque and loads of power to accelerate and enjoy. Two HDi's that show Fuelly figures on here are both returning an average of just under 51 MPG  I believe the road fund licence is cheaper too. I believe mine was £125 for the year. This engine is quite capable of 60 MPG driven frugally on a decent motorway journey. The only problem with that is it's too boring.

In answer to your original question..... I have just tested it to see on the disused runway on my way home. 85 MPH was showing 2.5000 RPM and 90 MPH was just a shade over this. I doubt that you could reach 3000 RPM in 6th gear.
Thanks very much for that! Definitely beyond the call of duty!

I do 500 miles a week in mine on the way to work (i have a diesel GT 61 plate) and i love it, averaging 52 MPG with a 70/30 i of dual carriageway and town driving. As for power l've never had a problem first gear is a bit slow but once the torque kicks in im off

without a doubt the best car ive ever owned

I do over 600 miles per week and I get between 52-54mpg. My commute is 90/10 on motorways. I also find first gear a bit sluggish aswell. It's no slouch alright but its not as fast as my old petrol TT

I don't think any RCZ can be :eusa-whistle:

As above, don't write off the Diesel.
Certainly got plenty of pull - and you're saving money while doing it.

Agree with the "doesn't suffer as much engine / anything else trouble over the Petrol Versions" post as well.

Don't knock it till you've tried it. The HDi is a fantastic performing, fuel efficient, quiet and enjoyable experience

I mean Ron, I've had the pleasure of driving the diesel rcz and I couldn't wait to get my 200 back as the acceleration feels, sounds a whole load better. The diesel has its perks but so does the petrol. Its all a matter of personal choice

Ah, now I understand. Twas confused. My comments carry the caveat that unlike yourself, I have not had the opportunity to do a direct comparison.

I test drove both before I got my Diesel and I have to say there are not many cars that beat me off at the lights...[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

Obviously the 200 was quicker at accelerating but I've got no complaints at how quick mine accelerates!

I've had a few comments from other cars pulling next to me and asking what engine my car is and being surprised its a diesel....

Well if you think your rcz diesel is fast thats all the better for you and when people ask "what engine is in your car" and you reply "a diesel" do you really think :eusa-think: that the look on their face's is really of "surprise" ;)

You have a bit of a downer on diesels Jassy but I somehow think you are basing most of that on diesels in years gone by. Modern day diesels really are super machines these days and are definitely the main growth market in car manufacturing.
