Thanks very much for that! Definitely beyond the call of duty!OO58RON said:Don't be too hasty at discounting the HDi. It's a fantastic power pack and has suffered less from problems reported on here then is petrol counterpart.
It has bags of torque and loads of power to accelerate and enjoy. Two HDi's that show Fuelly figures on here are both returning an average of just under 51 MPG  I believe the road fund licence is cheaper too. I believe mine was £125 for the year. This engine is quite capable of 60 MPG driven frugally on a decent motorway journey. The only problem with that is it's too boring.
In answer to your original question..... I have just tested it to see on the disused runway on my way home. 85 MPH was showing 2.5000 RPM and 90 MPH was just a shade over this. I doubt that you could reach 3000 RPM in 6th gear.

without a doubt the best car ive ever owned

Thats a very archaic comment. Diesels are alot more fun than in the old days(like I know only being 24  )

Tried one and couldn't wait to get my GT200 back, that acceleration is addictive :thumbup:OO58RON said:jassyo06 said:Boring Thread just like driving a diesel :wtf:
Don't knock it till you've tried it. The HDi is a fantastic performing, fuel efficient, quiet and enjoyable experience
That statement is a tad confusing Chuzzbum  What is it that you meant to say :sleeping-yellow:Chuzzbutt said:Tried one and couldn't wait to get my GT200 back, that acceleration is addictive :thumbup:OO58RON said:jassyo06 said:Boring Thread just like driving a diesel :wtf:

24 WITH A RCZ :wtf:  mind you thats good going![]()
I mean Ron, I've had the pleasure of driving the diesel rcz and I couldn't wait to get my 200 back as the acceleration feels, sounds a whole load better. The diesel has its perks but so does the petrol. Its all a matter of personal choice :thumbup:OO58RON said:That statement is a tad confusing Chuzzbum  What is it that you meant to say :sleeping-yellow:Chuzzbutt said:Tried one and couldn't wait to get my GT200 back, that acceleration is addictive :thumbup:OO58RON said:jassyo06 said:Boring Thread just like driving a diesel :wtf:

Obviously the 200 was quicker at accelerating but I've got no complaints at how quick mine accelerates!
I've had a few comments from other cars pulling next to me and asking what engine my car is and being surprised its a diesel....
