What mileage is your RCZ? Could be worn valve stem seals
Which oil do you use? If 0w30, try switching to 5w30 or even 5w40 and see if that helps. My old RCZ used to leave a lot of white smoke after stopping at red lights when using 0w30 oil. If I remember correctly, 5w30 helped a little.
Prince engines (petrol) have a reputation for being unreliable. I have owned two RCZs and both had various engine issues. Parts are easy to come by, haven't had any issues finding some. As for prices, I would say they are average
Unfortunately, I threw away my service invoices for my previous RCZ. Would be interesting to go over them and calculate the total amount spent on services. Major ones were timing chain replacement (around 400 Eur), hpfp (480 Eur), valve cover (200 Eur), thermostat (260 Eur), turbo restoration...
If you had to save for "quite a while" then maybe this isn't the best option for you 🤔 Mileage is pretty high on this. I owned two RCZs (both petrol) and I had to deal with engine errors on both of them (spent a lot of money on repairs). Since I love RCZ and have some spare money, this isn't an...
I had this problem as well.
HPFP was replaced a few months ago before I got this error code so I ruled out HPFP. I had my turbo refurbished, but that didn't help. I also replaced the diverter valve but still no luck. My next guess (after reading Is my turbo done? Fault code p0299) was turbo...
I agree with Plasma, maybe find a reputable tune company that handles everything for you instead of "a friend of a friend". I paid 300EUR for a 32 BHP remap. They used a dynamometer (rolling road or whatever that thing is called) and a guarantee was included in their service.
I had the same error on my old RCZ. Changed diverter valve, refurbished turbo but that didn't solve the problem. I was about to change the boost pressure electro valve but then I got into an accident and my RCZ was gone (as well as that annoying P0299 error).
The part itself costs around 500£ in the UK (there are plenty on eBay). Part numbers are 1920LL for THP156 or 1920RT THP200/R. It is not that hard to replace it yourself. How long do they last? Some say around 100k km. Mine broke down at 80k km.
The recommended oil is Total Quartz INEO ECS...
