I’m sure I have read of this same issue somewhere on here before, but it’s a case of trolling through using search to find it. It might not have been the same problem as yours of course. :eusa-think: :eusa-think:
I too have the piper fitted. I did a lot of reading before choosing, and as Mick has said, it seems to be a matter of personal choice, but I found that generally, it appeared that more people thought any improvement in performance was minimal, and that the piper was slightly preferred for this...
I have been quite impressed with Rain X over the years. You do get a better effect if you apply several coats, allowing each to dry first. There is also a product out which is a rainX screen cleaner and coating, but I haven’t found that to be as good.
As for paint protection, many on here...

Start the car, select 1st gear slowly release the clutch, and let the car roll with no input take your feet away from the pedals. It will still roll up inclines.
