the only other thought was, it hadn’t been particularly cold when you tried it had it? Just a thought at this time of year that the pipes could have been frozen?
The usual issue with a faulty screen is the cable going to the head unit. As the screen opens and closes, the cable has been known to chafe against the housing causing the screen to be faulty. If this is your fault, It would mean replacing (or repairing) the cable.
A lot of members have used paper to make a template of the opening for the original tips & cut the same opening from the other side. Not as “nice” as a replacement diffuser, but effective, and much cheaper 🤔
