Cripes! Were the piston's corroded/stuck in the calipers? Did you pick this up or on a service/MoT? (my discs and pads were replaced under a previous owner due to squealing etc)

I would have thought the attrition rate for write-offs would be higher given the power and abilities of the car....shows the maturity and driving skills of the owners :eusa-think: guess why the insurance is 'cheap' on them too.

Nice post. I think the 10 year availability can be hit and miss as there are some loopholes with suppliers and supply chain availability....I know some of the Alfa Romeo parts were unavailable on the GTV I have after about 7-8 years, some are being fabricated by 3rd parties, fingers crossed...

Finally found them OE Peugeot supplied for £504 a disc from Germany so a substantial saving over UK supplied prices. Tempted to get a set even though mine are not needed at the moment, especially as my car has apparently already had a warranty set fitted previously due I guess to the squealing.

Not sure why you chose an auto electrician (a £10 eBay OBD reader can read and reset the fuel related codes etc) for a mechanical issue.....as per my initial post.

If looking for pads Ferodo I think manufacture some as do EBC with their yellow stuff...Tarox have a selection of pad choices fast road, track etc start at around £200 all in for their Strada with low wear/low noise, there are others. I will be trying the Tarox one's as and when as I want...

The white R on Autotrader with 67K looked immaculate and was a 'bargain' for the price being asked after his reduction. I agree with the posts about research and not jumping in, but dithering around also loses the deal especially on a sought after colour/model like the R. I was looking for...

Re: RCZ R front discs and calipars Yes worth considering had a quick look on line and there are mixed reviews for various calipers sold; I would favour keeping the calipers oe and sourcing a set of compatible discs and pads as and when, fitting them myself or at a specialists.

Cool, so it looks like I can spray the badges in situ and then peel off around the emblem. May give that a go! Cheers

Slightly OT but I really want to have a black lion front and rear on my R as I think the chrome lion does not really match the red and black colour scheme, rear is stuck on but believe the front lion has studs through the body.....I was hoping that the badges could be wrapped in matte black wrap...

Took around a week (so they said) for them to source the metal fuel pipe that is replaced at the time of the pump change! None in stock and they are one of the biggest dealerships in the country?!
