Are you referring to the original chrome strips on the MK1? If so what’s happened to yours? If they’re marked you could try wrapping yours

Yeh lovely car you have there, you’ll be amazed at the difference a good stage 1 remap will make to your 156 you’ll get better economy too!

I know it sounds daft but worth a try, just check the boot release switch hasn’t stuck in, sometimes if you press to release it at one side it can stick and cause all sorts of issues with locking the car?
