The diesels are almost bullet proof so you won’t go far wrong. As to which one to buy. Do you prefer the “original” RCZ or the facelifted Z? Personally I would go for the facelifted model because it’s newer and for the colour.
I don’t use my R every day any more due to a change in job so I’m able to walk to work. This means my R is stood for a full week or sometimes longer and I’ve never had the screen not open up automatically. It does sound like your battery needs checking and possible replacement.
My previous RCZ R is up for sale by the current owner. Very well looked after it!

You could have one around the clock and the 2 side air vents, to break them up a bit.
