I have Conti’s on my R and 1 Goodyear (they were on the car when I bought it). Conti’s are on the front and I’ve had none of the skipping issues that have been reported in cold wet weather on full lock. I did on my last R with Goodyear’s all round. I also didn’t realise the Conti’s were more expensive than the Goodyear’s. The previous owner must have preferred Conti’s so was slowly fitting them all round. What I do like about the Conti’s is that they have a more pronounced lip over the alloy, which may or may not prove helpful should a kerb ever come too near.

OK going on the above information and all the posts in this thread, has anyone had the skipping / juddering with Michelin PS4S 's on the front?

And anyone got an opinion on whether or not this jack looks suitable for the Z ?

and is this the correct Eagle F1 for the R ?

Couple of questions there any ideas ?

Thanks in advance and cheers

Personally I wouldn’t use one of those jacks on the RCZ. Just not strong enough and I know someone who used one and it went right through the sill on their RCZ

No, I can't recall them doing that.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres have a 92Y rating which for the RCZ's only fit a RCZ-R!
I have the Goodyear tyres and the skip in the cold or wet at slow speeds.

I'd like to try my PS4S's on my RCZ-R but the wheels don't fit, would require spacers on the front to miss the caliper (yes I tried them).

Although I’m sure it may work I don’t think I would try that jack, better not to lift on the existing points seen as though they’re made of chewing gum

I did use that jack from the Mondeo and kept looking to make sure it wasn't causing any damage. At the end of the day it's all I had, so means must and all that.
So going from the reaction to this red Jack,it's a no. Kerry is this because the flat plated areas seem to small, what if I was to extend them.

Secondly, to Neil - when 0058RON made those slotted heads, weren't they to be used on our existing jacking points.

I think I will make a template in wood and leave in car, or I'm going to buy the red thing and extend the arms, then use some ply or something to save marking the sills.

I have one of those pucks that RON made (well u have 2) but I use mine with a trolley jack, which has a wider load area and the puck sits in it perfectly. So the jacking points do sit in the slits. You still have to be extremely careful but tough wood I’ve not had any problems.

I have a puck that I made myself, it really is a puck.

I made a kind of impression of the jacking point, and then cut out the hardened rubber puck to fit.

I then chickened out all together, and just use it between the cross member & a low profile trolley jack :eusa-think:

Yes Mick as Kerry said the puck is slotted and is the correct depth and a snug fit on the jacking points but it is designed to be used with a trolly jack.

If I’m right a forum member was selling a space saver and a Peugeot jack which was for the RCZ and to be honest didn’t look too dissimilar to the red one in your photos.

Cheers, I've bought the red jack and will weld some bigger plates, then glue some thick rubber to the extended plates to stop scratching. I might even do half moon shaped, but bigger than the puck.

There is no point carrying a spare wheel etc if I don't have a jack to lift the car. Plus now it's coming up to 3yrs old, I would like to paint my inner wheel hubs and give them a good clean and copper grease to ease removal, can't be carrying a lump hammer everywhere I go ! LOL.

Just want to make sure I am equipped.

You have 20" on the R? Maybe I missed something.

If it's just in case you have a flat tyre on the road, that jack works fine. I"ve got a similar in the boot just in case. Mine came out a wrecked Peugeot 407, togheter with the space saving spare wheel. :)

For tires, I'm very satisfied with my Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tires. There on my RCZ for the 3th summer in a row. Grip in rain better than my nokian winter tires. Wear OK. Grip in dry very good.
As a benchmark I used my laptimes at Circuit Zolder.
2m15 with the factory mounted conti's
2m18 with dunlop sportmaxx rt
2m15 with Vredestein Ultrac Vorti

I noticed that Vredestein, in comparison to the dunlops 'warn' when they pushed towards the limit.

Not me that was TiaNorth, he has both a HDi and a R, so guessing he means swapping them over to see how they fair, but the wheels from the HDi wont fit the front?
Correct me if I'm wrong Chris.

Cheers all M.

Useful information there Joske, thank you.

Which I could try a few lap times, sure that's heaps of fun ! Lol

Hi Mick,
I use one very similar (P672599, Peugeot part no) no probs so far providing the car is on level ground and the jack is straight under the car, not tilted. One day I will be able to upload pics again.

Yes the RCZ HDi wheels catch the RCZ-R calipers, so would need spacers.
