There is a download link to the installation manual PDF on that page which shows you how it works too. 👍

Yes, this little module connects between the head unit and the car and allows you to access everything from the right multi-function steering wheel stalk. Just press both top and bottom buttons on the stalk at the same time to access the car's menu screens. Works a treat!

There is a common fault with these - the cable is poorly positioned so, after time, the action of the screen opening and closing damages the cable. There are many posts on here about it and how to fix it so I would take a look at that before anything else. 👍
Check it again today after 24 hours of charge and the car fired up in milliseconds! Loads of errors - ABS, ESP, Braking System Fault, Engine Fault, Clock & Stereo reset to zero, windows only going up and down in increments instead of one shot... But gave it 5 minutes to compose itself while I...
Update: Finally got enough power into it to light up the ignition in position one and open the passenger door to access the bonnet release. New heavy-duty battery with 5 year guarantee is completely dead. As in, not a single volt in it - never seen one as dead as this before! I'll try and charge...

I'm sure there is a process (detailed in the Owners Manual so you can find it online) where you can recode a fob to your car. It's something like turn key to first position and hold button down on fob for 10 seconds...
The MKI badges like yours in the picture above are bolted on from behind. The MKII ones are just stuck on though and you can get those off quite easily by getting a length of cotton behind it and sawing away at the adhesive. Hope that helps.
Here you go - didn't want to keep you hanging! Fitting instructions are take out the existing 3 bolts, sandwich the new part in the middle and put in the 3 new (longer) bolts. Easy!
Yeah, really simple to fit - 3 bolts to use with an Allen Key. And it's right at the front top of engine too so no access issues. I believe even you will have no problem at all. 😁 I'll take a pic for you and post it tomorrow of you like. 👍
